The Most Brutal Deaths In Deadpool & Wolverine

The Most Brutal Deaths In Deadpool & Wolverine

As a long-time fan of the Merc with a Mouth and the clawed beast himself, I have to say that Deadpool & Wolverine delivered some truly epic deaths in this animated adventure. Having followed these characters through their various live-action appearances, it was a delight to see them team up once more and take down some serious baddies.

Deadpool and Wolverine have a straightforward storyline considering the abundance of Marvel characters. On his birthday, Deadpool gets ambushed by agents from the Time Variance Authority (TVA). This enigmatic figure named Paradox, who heads this TVA section, requires Deadpool for an assignment.

1. In an unexpected turn of events, Deadpool forgoes refusing and instead attempts to revive the Wolverine character who met his end in “Logan.” However, this endeavor fails miserably. As a result, Deadpool embarks on a journey across various universes to find a replacement Wolverine, thereby setting the stage for the ensuing chaos depicted in “Deadpool & Wolverine“. While there’s much more to the narrative, revealing those details would involve spoilers. In the meantime, let me share some particularly brutal kill scenes that left a lasting impression in the movie.

WARNING! Spoilers ahead!

6 The TVA Agents

They Messed With The Wrong Messiah

The Most Brutal Deaths In Deadpool & Wolverine

In the beginning of “Deadpool & Wolverine“, there’s a scene that stands out. Deadpool unearths Logan’s body from the film “Logan” where he is now merely a shell of his former self. Deadpool then proceeds to dismantle Logan’s body, utilizing every part from his knuckles to leg bones as deadly weapons against encroaching TVA agents.

1. It’s a bit unsettling yet amusing to witness Logan being torn apart in such a manner, but there are some unforgettable TVA agent deaths. For instance, the two agents that Deadpool dispatches with his claws from their groin to butt are quite memorable. Moreover, slicing the lead TVA agent with his katana after bouncing it off the ground is quite gruesome. However, the icing on this violent scene is Deadpool dancing exuberantly to *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” song.

5 Sabertooth

Died As Quickly As He Arrived

In the world of comics and X-Men films, Sabertooth has been a longstanding adversary to Wolverine for quite some time. They clash in The Void during Deadpool & Wolverine, an event Deadpool had been promoting enthusiastically. However, the battle ended abruptly with a swift duel. Just like in traditional samurai films, they passed each other without a direct confrontation. In a sudden edit, Sabertooth’s head was seen rolling off, leaving Wolverine victorious and standing tall.

Without skipping a heartbeat, Deadpool seizes Sabertooth’s head for a humorous conversation. He quips as if Sabertooth was Dementus, Chris Hemsworth’s character in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.” It’s an amusing sequence of jokes born from the grim demise of Sabertooth, who is unceremoniously discarded soon after.

4 Johnny Storm

Skin Off!

In the film “Deadpool & Wolverine,” one unexpected moment is Chris Evans’ appearance in The Void. Initially, it appears he’s returning as Captain America. However, the plot takes an unexpected turn when Evans shouts “Flame On!” and transforms into the Human Torch to battle Mutants instead. Previously, Evans portrayed Johnny Storm in the first two “Fantastic Four” films.

Following the initial scene, the characters Johnny Storm, Deadpool, and Wolverine find themselves apprehended by Mutants and transported to Cassandra Nova’s stronghold. Inside this complex, Cassandra Nova, the malevolent sibling of Charles Xavier, displays her abilities in a chilling manner by instantly stripping away Johnny Storm’s skin. This scene, undeniably the most gruesome moment in the movie, leaves Johnny Storm’s internal organs sprawled on the ground, causing deep sorrow for Deadpool and Wolverine.

3 Juggernaut

Discarded Marvel Heroes Kick Back

In the Deadpool and Wolverine comic, fans will be thrilled to discover that Elektra, Blade, Gambit, and X-23 from Logan are part of the opposition against Johnny Storm. During an inspiring talk by Deadpool, these renowned heroes assist in attacking Cassandra’s stronghold. Unlike Deadpool’s X-Force team from Deadpool 2, these characters play significant roles and don’t merely sacrifice themselves for a laugh.

Elektra and Blade engage in both digital and physical combat, while Gambit eliminates numerous villains using his playing cards, which have been graphically enhanced for effect. Among the fatalities, X-23 delivers an impressive retort by severing Juggernaut’s heels and then beheading him. Her fierce actions ultimately give Deadpool and Wolverine the opportunity to subdue Cassandra’s psychic abilities temporarily, allowing them to negotiate a deal with Juggernaut’s helmet instead.

2 Nicepool

Say Goodbye To That Sweet Hair

Nicepool is one of the Deadpool variants in the movie. He wears a similar costume but he has no mask, no scars, and more importantly, Nicepool has a beautiful mane of hair. He’s also incapable of harming others hence his name. One of the last action scenes of the movie has a whole army of Deadpool variants that come after Deadpool Prime and Wolverine.

In an unexpected turn of events, Deadpool relies on Nicepool for protection against gunfire, assuming his healing abilities would kick in like those of his comrades. Regrettably, Nicepool does not possess such powers and perishes from the bullet wounds, resulting in a gruesome explosion. Wolverine employs Dogpool as a shield during this firefight, leaving him unscathed while mockingly taunting the situation.

1 Cassandra Nova

She Didn’t See That Coming

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel that Deadpool’s storyline in this movie could have reached an epic conclusion. With his unmatched power and charisma, it seems only fair for him to bow out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after such an iconic run. And let’s not forget, Hugh Jackman has already hung up the claws as Wolverine.

Cassandra didn’t die in a massive explosion of gore which would have been par for the course though. Instead, she is vaporized by the very time power she was trying to harness. There are ways she could have survived, like Deadpool and Wolverine, but for now, let’s count it as a death by time itself.
