He epitomizes the degeneracy of fame: a wealthy man more concerned with preserving his image than anything or anyone else. When Gregory Edgeworth, Miles’s father, made the slightest blemish on Manfred’s impeccable reputation, the consequences were catastrophic. This event set off a chain reaction that significantly impacted the course of the series’ plotline, causing harm to numerous characters. Manfred’s name is synonymous with terror. The relationship between him and his hero-worshipping daughter, Miles, is more of a formality than genuine affection.

And while other Ace Attorney villains only had ill intentions towards specific people, or were corrupted by power, Dahlia has no excuse for her behavior. Sure, her upbringing wasn’t easy, but her crime spree began as early as 14 years old. By her own admission, she’s always been a demon. Even death couldn’t contain Dahlia Hawthorne’s evil forever.
