Half Sword Games has announced that its medieval combat game, Half Sword, will be available in early access soon. The game quickly gained attention in October 2023 with a demo that was remarkably funny—though unintentionally so—thanks to its chaotic physics and ragdoll effects.
Half Sword throws you into intense arena battles where you’ll fight various opponents. The combat is challenging to learn, but incredibly satisfying as you defeat enemies with powerful attacks. It’s a brutal game with realistic physics that makes every fight a spectacle, and it’s launching into early access on January 30th.
Half Sword Hits Early Access on January 30
The demo for Half Sword was a big hit online, generating lots of funny clips and finding a dedicated audience. The game is a combat simulator that aims for realism but with a strong comedic twist. One moment you might be fighting nearly nude, wildly swinging your fists, and the next you could be a fully armored knight defeating a crowd of villagers.
As of today, over 6,000 players are trying out the Half Sword demo on Steam, even though this is just a small preview of what the full game from Half Sword Games has to offer.

Half Sword has a lot going for it, but be warned: it’s quite challenging to learn. It’s a game where one mistake can set you back significantly, as the game doesn’t make it easy to recover from setbacks – so be prepared for some frustration!
