8. Class 1-A VS Midoriya
Midoriya’s Classmates Gave Everything They Had To Bring Their Disillusioned Friend Back
- Episode: 136
Once Midoriya understands that Shigaraki and All For One are mainly intent on subduing him and seizing his Quirk, the determined hero assumes a more somber demeanor and chooses to act independently to shield his classmates from harm. Even though he might have anticipated this development, it doesn’t take much time before Bakugo and the rest challenge their longtime companion. Their intervention was crucial because if they hadn’t intervened, Midoriya would likely have persisted on his self-destructive path, fixated on overpowering One For All and Shigaraki.
In my excitement, I found myself leading my classmates in a bold attempt to shake some reality into Midoriya. Fortunately, our efforts paid off! It wasn’t an easy task, but we successfully convinced him that he couldn’t single-handedly defeat All For One. Thankfully, we saved him from embarking on what would have been a disastrous solo mission against this formidable adversary.
7. Midoriya & Lemillion VS Overhaul
Midoriya And Mirio Fought Overhaul To Save A Young Girl’s Life
- Episodes: 75-77
Initially, Overhaul may have given the impression of being a simple, caring father towards Midoriya, but in reality, he’s been far from a loving guardian towards Eri. Instead, he’s been exploiting her for his own gain, using her powerful Quirk to extract blood from her body. This is crucial because Eri’s Rewind Quirk enables Overhaul to manufacture bullets that can destroy other Quirks, causing immense trouble when used in battles.
In this battle, Midoriya gives it his everything, even using all his strength, since he has a sense of Eri’s struggles hidden off-stage. Knowing that a young girl’s life is on the line, both Midoriya and Lemillion refused to underestimate Overhaul.
6. Shigaraki VS Re-Destro
The Duel That Decided Who Would Lead The Meta Liberation Army
- Episodes: 111-112
At first, Re-Destro, head of the Meta Liberation Army, views Shigaraki and his League of Villains as obstacles to his ambitious scheme and beliefs. Following a monumental clash between their forces, the struggle culminates in a decisive showdown between Shigaraki and Re-Destro, with the winner emerging as the dominant force.
If Shigaraki hadn’t won this battle, it’s likely that the League of Villains would have disbanded, given their weakened state at that point in the narrative. Shigaraki’s victory not only attracted a multitude of new supporters but also boosted the morale and confidence of his associates, all of whom would ultimately pose significant threats during the climactic conflict.
5. Star & Stripe VS Shigaraki
America’s Number One Hero Initially Seemed More Than Capable Of Taking Down Shigaraki For Good
- Episode: 139–140
Despite the US government advising against it and despite the fact that all Japan’s heroes had failed to harm Shigaraki after acquiring All For One, Star & Stripe – Japan’s top hero – chose to take action to finally vanquish him. Given her powerful New Order Quirk, there was a strong possibility that she could accomplish what others couldn’t.
Furthermore, given that Star & Stripe is a renowned foreign hero, her actions in this battle significantly influenced how other nations would react to the conflict. Regrettably, Star & Stripe met her demise at Shigaraki’s hands, which had far-reaching consequences as it discouraged other countries from intervening. This allowed Shigaraki to persist in his destruction, causing immense difficulty for Japan’s Pro-Heroes.
4. All For One VS All Might
All Might Was Tasked With Putting A Stop To AFO’s Rampage, Despite Being At The Limit Of His Power
- Episode: 49
When All For One confronts his arch-nemesis, All Might, in the main plot, All Might’s power, One For All, is nearly depleted. This weakened state presents an ideal chance for All Might to defeat All For One, assuming he has any strength remaining.
During this incredible battle, often hailed by fans as one of the series’ finest, a vast audience of thousands held their breath in anticipation, wondering if All Might could halt the villain in his tracks. If All Might had fallen short, All For One would likely have avoided capture, potentially regaining his position as Japan’s hidden tyrant.
3. Todoroki VS Dabi
Dabi Becomes A Ticking Time Bomb Who Only Endeavor And Todoroki Can Defuse
- Episode: 157
Initially, Dabi’s Blueflame ability might appear much like Endeavor’s, but there’s a notable distinction: Dabi’s flames are exceptionally hot, so intense that they gradually erode his own body each time he unleashes them. During the climactic battle, after revealing his true self and confronting his father, Dabi’s Quirk intensifies dramatically. The heroes grow concerned as they fear Dabi might implode, potentially triggering an explosion powerful enough to level the nearby surroundings and anyone unfortunate enough to be there.
It’s fortunate that Todoroki consents to confront Dabi, but this won’t be an effortless endeavor. Given that Dabi was poised to release his seething anger onto the world without restraint, it’s no wonder he became a top priority for the Pro-Heroes.
2. Heroes VS All For One
Letting All For One Execute His Master Plan Would Plunge The World Into An Age Of Darkness And Chaos
- Episodes: 154-156
In the climactic battle, All For One, who was already formidable with his array of Quirks and exceptional combat skills, gains an additional edge: he can tap into Eri’s Rewind Quirk to revert to his youthful years. At his peak, All For One transforms into a terrifying force, unabashedly wreaking havoc on anyone who dares challenge him in his quest to become a Demon Lord.
The positive aspect is that the heroes pose a significant challenge for All For One, given the numerous ones who dare to confront him. Consequently, there have been several injuries, and some heroes have even lost their abilities, including Hawks, our Pro-Hero. Yet, it’s all justified as we strive to keep AFO from reaching Shigaraki and executing his wicked scheme.
1. Midoriya VS Shigaraki
Midoriya Fights To Keep Hope And Heroism Alive
- Episode: 150-Ongoing
Beyond Midoriya, no other heroes possess strength comparable to Shigaraki towards the series finale. With All For One bestowing new abilities upon him and his Decay Quirk reaching its full potential, Shigaraki managed to repel numerous powerful heroes. Though Bakugo displayed remarkable resilience, he couldn’t ultimately overcome Shigaraki. The reason Shigaraki was considered so formidable is that a simple touch of the ground could lead to destruction on a massive scale – a capability he showcased by reducing an entire hospital to rubble in a matter of seconds.
In other words, Midoriya can’t afford to lose because the hero society and possibly the entire world could be at risk. Shigaraki isn’t driven by a specific ideology or vision; he just wants to destroy everything. Consequently, this fight is the most intense in the series due to the extremely high stakes involved.
