
Okay, so I just played Bodycam, and wow. It’s a shooter that feels…intense. Honestly, it’s so realistic, it kinda feels like watching something you’d stumble across on Liveleak. They built it in Unreal Engine and really focused on making everything feel real – the way things move, the sounds, how the guns handle. It’s super immersive, but also a little unsettling, to be honest. It’s not your typical run-and-gun; it’s a whole experience.
Reissad Studio, the creators of Bodycam, just launched a big new update for the game. It includes a lot of fresh content and improvements that make the shooting experience even more lifelike.
Feels Like a War Crime
Bodycam is a game best understood by playing it – it’s hard to describe. It aims for a very realistic feel, blurring the lines between a traditional video game and raw, first-person footage from a war zone.

Bodycam has received its first significant update since launching on Steam in June 2024. The game originally impressed players with its realism, and this update continues that trend.
Reissad, a company based in Paris, has significantly expanded the content available in Bodycam with its latest update.
- New Maps: Two brand new environments are introduced: a massive CQB Power Gun map, which is the largest close-quarters environment to date, and also the most realistic one, thanks to intense scanning of a real location. And a new Village map designed for the enhanced Zombie mode. Finally, the interior of the existing Wornhouse map has also been completely reworked.
- New Weapon: The Crossbow enters the arsenal – a powerful, silent, and deadly weapon, which will first be featured prominently in the updated Zombie map.
- Zombie Mode Overhaul: The Zombie mode receives a rework, featuring more immersive enemy behavior, refined wave pacing, and new enemy types.
The game has been updated to Unreal Engine 5.5, which includes improved visuals thanks to features like advanced lighting and more realistic shadows. We’ve also made significant optimizations to help the game run more smoothly on a wider range of computers.
As a player, I’m really happy to say that the biggest problems with the game – things like the frustrating disconnects, weird audio glitches, and some annoying parts of the interface – have finally been fixed! It’s a much smoother experience now.

Our community made it clear that performance and reliability were top priorities, and this update is a big step towards delivering on that commitment. We’ve significantly improved how we build the game by switching to Unreal Engine 5.5 and creating our own dedicated quality assurance team. This, along with adding more people to the team, means we can consistently release high-quality, innovative updates during Early Access. We’re listening to your feedback and are dedicated to making Bodycam the most immersive and intense first-person shooter possible.
