Pokémon card collectors are just beginning to recover from the recent Phantasmal Flames release, but a new set is coming soon—and it looks like it will be a particularly challenging one to collect.
The latest Pokémon TCG set, Mega Dream, will be released in Japan on November 28th. The English version, called Ascended Heroes, is expected in late January 2026. This delay could be frustrating for players who aim to collect every card.
Mega Dream ex is a Master Set Nightmare

New previews for the upcoming Mega Dream ex set in Japan are appearing online, and they’re generating a lot of excitement! The cards look amazing, with one Psyduck Art Rare in particular expected to become highly sought after by collectors.
As a Pokémon TCG fan, I’m really excited about what’s coming in this new set! I’ve been following sites like Pokebeach, and they’ve shared some cool details. Apparently, there will be a bunch of different kinds of reverse holo cards. We’re not just getting the standard ones – they’re showing off Pokéball designs and even reverse holos that match the Pokémon’s type, which is a really neat touch!
This new Pokémon set will also include Pokémon from Team Rocket, and their cards will have a special reverse holo design featuring the Team Rocket logo. This brings the total number of different reverse holo types in the set to three, not counting the highly anticipated Master Ball holo that will likely be revealed soon.
We don’t yet have specific information about the reverse holo cards, like how many different versions of each card will be available. It’s also unclear if the English release of this set will have the same features.
The release of the Black Bolt and White Flare sets earlier this year marked a first for the Pokémon TCG in this language – they included reverse holo versions of Poké Balls and Master Balls.
With Pokémon trading card products being so hard to find, figuring out which reverse holo cards are worth collecting can be really confusing.
