PlayStation Plus Extra is launching a significant update on December 16th. The new games are arriving in pairs – including titles some subscribers have already enjoyed – as Sony aims to finish the year strong, even though the rollout is happening early.
Recently, the game Skate Story was added to PS Plus on day one, offering a fresh skateboarding experience for subscribers. While next week’s games won’t be available on launch day, the selection is still great, with something for all types of players. December 2025’s PS Plus Extra tier will include action-adventure games, fantasy RPGs, and kart racing, ensuring there’s a little bit of everything.

It’s been a while since a new Assassin’s Creed game was available with PS Plus, and Mirage offers a lot of content for subscribers. The game returns to the series’ classic style, focusing on stealth, assassinations, and parkour. Plus, it includes the free ‘Valley of Memory’ update released in November 2025, which expands on Basim’s story. If you’ve been interested in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, December 16th is a great time to try it out.

- Extra
- Free to PS Plus subscribers with an active subscription
This month, PS Plus subscribers can enjoy LEGO Horizon Adventures as one of their free games, in addition to its availability through Extra. Unlike other Horizon games, LEGO Horizon Adventures takes a lighter, more playful approach, making it perfect for younger players while still staying true to the unique world Sony created. While it might not appeal to all Horizon fans, it’s a fun and relaxing way to experience Aloy’s story in a new style.
Save Room for Two Servings of PAW Patrol
December is a great month for PlayStation Plus Extra members with children! The latest games include options for all ages, and families can enjoy playing both PAW Patrol: Grand Prix and PAW Patrol World on PS Plus. With the holidays approaching, it’s the perfect time to have some family fun and play these two PAW Patrol games together.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty and Granblue Fantasy: Relink Double Up on Fantasy Action RPGs
PS Plus subscribers who enjoy fantasy action RPGs have two exciting new options in December. Granblue Fantasy: Relink offers a beautiful world, engaging story, and fun gameplay, and can be played alone or with up to four friends. If you prefer a darker experience, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, from the creators of Ninja Gaiden, is a challenging action RPG set in a grim, historical version of China during the Late Han Dynasty. With these two games, PS Plus is satisfying fans of both bright, classic fantasy and darker, more historical settings.
Cat Quest 3 and Planet Coaster 2 Have Two Audiences: The Casual and the Hardcore
Though Cat Quest 3 and Planet Coaster 2 seem very different, they both appeal to a wide range of players. You can enjoy either game for quick, relaxing sessions, or dive into more complex gameplay – whether that’s through character builds in Cat Quest or detailed management in Planet Coaster. Both games offer something for casual and hardcore players alike, and either one could be a surprisingly deep or simple experience on PS Plus, depending on your preference.

As a PlayStation fan, I’m really excited about what PS Plus is offering! And it’s not just for us hardcore gamers – there are tons of great family-friendly options too. Even before the new games drop on December 16th, the Extra tier is packed with stuff to play.
