Players will be able to explore the world of the popular anime series *The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin* either by themselves or with up to three friends in co-op mode. Announced during the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play, the game promises diverse gameplay experiences and areas designed for both solo and cooperative play when it releases in early 2026.
Those who enjoy the anime and manga *The Seven Deadly Sins* had a chance to preview gameplay for *The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin* at Gamescom 2025 in August. The game is scheduled to release on January 28, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile. While the initial trailer showed off familiar characters, the story will center around Prince Tristan, the teenage son of the series’ main characters, Meliodas and Elizabeth.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Features Single and Co-Op Modes
A new trailer debuted at the September 24 State of Play event, offering a deeper look at the upcoming game, *The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin*. The game tells a brand-new story, separate from the manga and anime, and puts players in control of Tristan as he journeys through Britannia. Beyond fighting, players can explore a vast open world, collect materials, craft items, build structures, fish, and even capture creatures. This single-player campaign gives players considerable freedom to interact with and shape their surroundings.
In addition to the main story, players can team up with up to three friends to tackle challenging dungeon raids. While the complete roster of playable characters based on the *Seven Deadly Sins* hasn’t been announced, it looks like they’ll draw from across the entire series, not just characters from the later parts. The trailer showcases familiar faces from both the Knights of the Apocalypse arc and earlier seasons, like King, Merlin, and Meliodas (Tristan’s father), all of whom will have unique abilities and fighting styles.

You can now pre-register for the game on all platforms through the official website. Sign-ups for the closed beta are also open, having launched in late August. If you’re eager for more *Seven Deadly Sins* gaming before the full game releases in January, there are other options available, like the mobile game *Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross*, which has been around since 2020.
