What Do Familiars Do In Realm Of Magic?
At Juan’s Enchanting All-in-One Wand Emporium, nestled in Caster Alley, you’ll find magical beings known as familiars that players can acquire. Remember to drop by often, as the stock is always rotating. Should luck be on your side, you might stumble upon your summoning charms while browsing for mystical books in Magic Realm HQ or challenging another player for one during a duel. Ordinary house pets like cats and dogs can also become familiars. Players have the freedom to collect as many familiars as they desire; however, only one can be summoned at a given moment.
Having a familiar by your side in the game of Spellcaster Sim can provide an added sense of assurance and positivity. These charming companions not only offer emotional support, shielding their Sim from certain demise, but also lend a helping paw in skill development as a magic-user. What makes them truly special is their ability to amplify the experience points a Sim earns when engaging in activities that increase Spellcaster skills. It’s important to note that each familiar has its own unique character, and they occasionally offer words of encouragement for your Sim’s progress. The most intriguing aspect, however, is that some familiars are rarer than others.
12. Fairy
A Common Familiar
- Price: 100 simoleons
Anyone who’s a fan of “The Legend of Zelda” series would instantly identify this creature. It’s called by a blue orbing and takes the form of a tiny, floating, glowing sphere with beautiful, deep blue butterfly wings.
The Fairy is depicted as a spiritual entity without a physical form, manifesting as a radiant cluster of energy enclosed within its wings. Legends claim that a faint, tingling, electrostatic sensation can be perceived in their presence.
11. Raven
A Common Familiar
- Price: 100 simoleons
For any traditional practitioner of magic, be it witch or wizard, the Raven is an excellent choice. Its appearance is a rich mix of deep purple and black tones, with eyes that shine bright yellow. In terms of aesthetics, it’s one of the more Halloween-themed and eerie-looking familiars available, making it ideal for any villainous Spellcasters.
Although some view the Raven as a harbinger of ill tidings or misfortune, it is often seen as an exceptionally devoted companion to any Spellcaster it binds with, growing quite fond of them in return.
10. Sixam Owl
A Common Familiar
- Price: 100 simoleons
If you’re not familiar with the term, a Sixam refers to an extraterrestrial planet that can be accessed by a Sim in the game expansion called “Get To Work” once they attain the highest level in their scientist career. Interestingly enough, it’s the reverse of the word “Maxis”!
From what I gather, it’s not far-fetched to think that this extraordinary being is an extraterrestrial from a distant world. Given its strong bond with the moon, the Sixam Owl seems right at home among the lunar landscape. With its shimmering blue body and starry details, it’s no surprise that it captures the hearts of Pufferheads everywhere – perhaps even reminiscent of a cherished creature from the magical world of Harry Potter.
9. Bunnerfly
A Common Familiar
- Price: 250 simoleons
For those curious about what a bunny with butterfly wings might resemble, here’s your answer! Although its name is sweet and its looks are somewhat cute, the Bunnerfly possesses an eerie, almost demonic ambiance. Its eyes glow red, while its crimson butterfly wings enable it to hover in mid-air, enveloping its black, fluffy body.
The Bunnerfly’s genuine character remains a mystery, as it is seen as an unusual case even in the realms of magic and biology. Interestingly, it’s the unique Common familiar that costs significantly more than the standard 100 Simoleons.
8. Dragon
An Uncommon Familiar
- Price: 250 simoleons
As a gamer, I can’t imagine my team without a Dragon companion. Known for its raw power and legendary status, it’s the ultimate ally any power-seeking player would want. Nobody dares challenge the Dragon and its associates; their loyalty to their Spellcaster is unparalleled.
The Dragon seems to resemble a young member of its species, sporting a purple hue and eyes that glow yellow. Being an Uncommon familiar, gamers may find themselves shelling out more coins for this pet due to its vintage-inspired design reminiscent of Spyro the Dragon. However, considering the nostalgic charm it brings, the cost seems reasonable.
7. Glowfrog
An Uncommon Familiar
- Price: 250 simoleons
Beware of the deceptive charm of the Glowfrog – its innocent appearance belies its true nature as it can lead to trouble for unaware Sims. By their very character, Glowfrogs are tricksters and will seize any opportunity they get to cause mischief.
From the perspective of an enchanted observer, Glowfrogs present themselves as radiant, hovering amphibians adorned with tiny wings and a luminescent yellow tail-tip. These creatures are often favored by spellcasters, given their historic association with witches and the mystique of Halloween.
6. Snub-Nosed Leaf Bat
An Uncommon Familiar
- Price: 250 simoleons
When you consider the phrase “unexpectedly cute,” it’s not typical for your mind to conjure an image of a creature that’s part baby pig, part bat, and part plant. However, this unique blend becomes vividly adorable once players encounter a Snub-Nosed Leaf Bat in their gaming experience.
Exceptionally cute, this unique rendition of the traditional bat from The Sims 4 resembles a form taken by vampires, featuring a pink nose, short green legs, a fluffy white body, and brilliantly luminescent green leaf-like wings. It stands out as one of the more distinctive companions, unlike any other familiar found in other games.
5. Hex Doll
An Uncommon Familiar
- Price: 250 simoleons
When it comes to magic, who would overlook voodoo? For those who believe in this ancient practice, a Hex Doll might just be an ideal choice. This figure is often seen as a quiet helper, but his supernatural allure remains undiminished.
As a gamer, I’d describe the Hex Doll as a grisly, voodoo-style figurine with a radiant heart emblem on its chest and assorted patches all over its body. It even has pins jutting from its head, giving it an permanently irate expression. Despite his menacing appearance, this doll is unwaveringly loyal – a steadfast follower.
4. Phoenix
A Rare Familiar
- Price: 500 simoleons
The enigmatic and powerful Phoenix, one of the scarcest and most sought-after magical companions in the Realm of Magic, captivates many. This magnificent, regal bird shares some resemblance with the Raven, yet its body radiates like burning embers, adorned with black spots on its head and wings, and a radiant tail.

This creature also has two tiny horns growing from its head and a pair of eyes that glow yellow, always seeming to be on the lookout for its preferred Spellcaster. Given its impressive appearance, it’s not surprising that it is deemed a Rare familiar, commanding a high price of 500 simoleons.
3. Skull
A Rare Familiar
- Price: 500 simoleons
Skulls are often linked with death, as well as darkness and sinister connotations. Only the most intimidating Sorcerers would find this eerie emblem appealing, either to signal their formidable power, or to instill terror in their adversaries during a confrontation.
This antique skull appears weathered and damaged with blemishes and grooves etched onto its bone structure. Yet, an eerie green radiance seems to levitate it in mid-air. Despite having a whimsical, cartoonish look, it’s an excellent choice for wicked sorcerers who favor a spooky, Halloween motif for their collection.
2. Velid
A Rare Familiar
- Price: 777 simoleons
Enthusiasts of Voidcritters will undoubtedly take delight in learning that one specific character graces the Realm of Magic, thereby validating his reality. Known as Velid, this character is rumored to possess an impressive understanding of cosmic expanse, a trait fitting given his alien origin.
He perpetually floats near a puff of smoke, sporting a goat-like skull for his head, complete with brown horns and large red eyes, while his body is a vivid blue. Among all familiars, Velid is the most costly, retailing at the shop for 777 monetary units, a price that may carry some secret symbolism.
1. Cats And Dogs
If traditional mystical entities don’t appeal to the player, they should know that even a formerly idle house cat or newly acquired puppy can transform into a familiar. To achieve this, simply click on them, choose “Magic”, and then select “Bind As Familiar”.
When a pet is conjured as a familiar, it will have a charming aura of light around it. This pet can embark on independent quests to procure mystical artifacts for the player character. This presents an ideal chance for gamers to acquire their unique black cat companion, affectionately named Salem.
