The Sims 4 Releases Another New Update for July 2025

In July 2025, The Sims 4 experienced an update, which addressed various game bugs and refined how certain aspects function within the latest expansion pack, Enchanted by Nature. This update is part of a series that has also included another patch released around the same time.

In the latest update, The Sims 4 has been enriched with fresh content through the Enchanted by Nature expansion. This expansion reintroduces fairies into The Sims series, a feature players have long anticipated. Alongside this, new careers and skills have been added to the game, although, as with any new launch, there are some minor bugs that need fixing.

On July 29, 2025, The Sims 4 has rolled out an update addressing various problems that surfaced after Enchanted by Nature was introduced. The frequency of Ailments is now significantly decreased (up to 75%), making them less likely to spread among nearby Sims. On average, a Sim will get an Ailment every three days instead of daily. Furthermore, the extremes of the Balance system have been revised, preventing Sims from instantly becoming “Very Imbalanced” upon another Sim’s death. Instead, their Balance will gradually decrease, providing them with time to react and seek appropriate care.

EA has found a problem affecting console users who were unable to access The Sims Gallery or claim Event Rewards due to an “Online Connection is Required” error. This issue occurred because a User Agreement pop-up wasn’t showing up at the right time, preventing players from agreeing and moving forward with the game’s online features. Although the problem hasn’t been fixed directly yet, EA has provided a solution. Players can resolve this by navigating to “Game Options,” then “Other,” and finally “Link EA Account.” By doing so, they will be able to view and agree to the User Agreement, which will allow them to access the online system correctly.

Changes made to The Sims 4 involve several aspects:

1. In-game Naturopath characters can now take holidays off, similar to other job roles.
2. Colors for Werewolf noses have been reintroduced in the Create-a-Sim feature.
3. When playing with Aliens or Sims wearing DLC outfits, there will be no more compatibility issues if you’re using a version of the game that doesn’t include all the necessary DLC packs.

The Sims 4 July 29 Complete Patch Notes

PC: 1.116.240.1020 / Mac: 1.116.240.1220

Console: Version 2.17

Sul Sul, Simmers,

In this post, we’ve got some exciting news to alleviate a few of the main issues you’ve been discussing: bug corrections, console users can now access the Gallery, and advancements in the Ailment system within Enchanted by Nature. We truly appreciate your insights and suggestions, and we’ll keep monitoring the situation for any necessary adjustments in the coming weeks.

Enchanted by Nature – Ailments

In today’s adjustment, the occurrence of ailments has been decreased by as much as 75%. To offer some background, there are two main reasons for developing ailments: Contagions and Imbalance. We’ve made enhancements to both areas following your suggestions.

By implementing measures against contagions, we’ve noticeably decreased the contagiousness of illnesses. Now, Sims typically catch an illness every three days, compared to the previous rate of daily infection. If your Sim resides in a large household or practices as a Naturopath and sees numerous clients, instances of illness will occur approximately 40-50% less frequently than before.

With the Balance system, if a Sim reaches an extremely unbalanced state, they may develop health issues, known as Ailments. We’ve made some adjustments to the Balance scale, which influences how often these Ailments might occur. Earlier, experiencing a death or having intense emotions like Mortified and Hysterical would swiftly deplete all Balance, making the Sim feel extremely unbalanced immediately. Now, while extreme emotions drain Balance more quickly than ordinary feelings, they provide enough time for the Sim to respond and seek appropriate care before becoming critically unbalanced.

Let’s discuss possibilities for enhancing illness management, and we can’t wait to get your thoughts once the next version is rolled out.

Enchanted by Nature – Fairy Wings

Let me spill the beans about those enchanting Fairy wings! We’ve got a ton of fun facts and instances when you can expect them to flutter into view. Our team has gone through over 360 different positions and interactions related to Fairy wings, crafting animations that fit each scenario perfectly. You’ll notice that the wings will disappear in certain activities like lying down, sitting, or riding a horse. This is all part of the design to prevent any clipping or animation issues with complicated objects, which could potentially cause technical hassles for players.

If you find yourself wondering where your Fairy wings are after engaging in several interactions that should have triggered them, please don’t hesitate to share your concerns on the Forums. Your feedback will help us look into the matter further!

Console Connectivity

We’ve been looking into issues where some console players can’t reach the Gallery or collect Event Rewards, with error messages like “Online Connection Required” or just seeing the Library on the main menu. This is happening because a User Agreement pop-up isn’t showing up as expected. To fix this temporarily, navigate to “Game Options” > “Other”, then press the “Link EA Account” button. A new version of the User Agreement will appear. Accepting the updated agreements will trigger a game restart, which should reconnect you to the Gallery. Remember to save your progress before restarting.

Thanks again for all the passion and love for Fairies!

Bug Fixes

Enchanted by Nature

  • [EA Forums] Ailments now are less contagious between household Sims and much less contagious from public toilets. This results in Ailments triggering up to 75% less often depending on your household size and other factors.
  • [EA Forums] Balance is now more… balanced. Witnessing death and having extreme emotions such as Mortified and Hysterical no longer cause a Sim to become Very Imbalanced.
  • [EA Forums] For players with Seasons, the Naturopath career now respects holidays so its Sims have the day off.
  • “Sponge Bath in Bathroom” (at The Mossveil Fairy Hub) and “Bathe in Water” (in ponds for Sims with Natural Living Skill) now clean Sims who have been singed by fire.

Werewolves

  • [EA Forums] Werewolf noses now have color options once again in Create a Sim.

Base Game

  • [EA Forums] During a limited-time event such as Nature’s Calling, Sims now remain at work or school when other household members travel or join a career.

Multiple Packs

  • Get to Work Aliens and Sims wearing an outfit from DLC packs no longer look pitch black or have invisible bodies when played in a game that does not have those packs.
