The recently announced Royalty & Legacy expansion is expected to be the final expansion pack for The Sims 4. Electronic Arts plans to stop creating new content for the popular life simulation game after over ten years.
Royalty & Legacy is Coming
The South Korean ratings board recently listed “The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy,” leading many to believe it could be the last expansion pack for The Sims 4.
In a listing published on December 26, it’s explained:
As a huge Sims fan, I’m so excited about the new expansion pack! It lets you create a noble family and really build their legacy over generations – it’s all about creating a dynasty, which sounds amazing!
This expansion feels like a fitting end to The Sims 4, which has been popular for over ten years. Letting players build a family legacy as royalty is a good way to say goodbye.
The Sims’ latest expansion received a rating for players 15 and older due to some mature content, including mild sexual references and realistic violence. These types of elements aren’t unusual for the game.

Electronic Arts Korea submitted the filing, and this is just the first of what we expect to be many ratings for this game. We searched the ESRB and PEGI rating boards, but hadn’t found a similar listing yet when we published this information.
These ratings usually appear just days or weeks before the game’s creators officially announce something new. We might be about to see everything about what could be the final expansion pack for The Sims 4.
