The Slormancer is an action role-playing game (ARPG) boasting a captivating visual style that hides a deep, eerie complexity. Despite not having the astronomical budget typical of AAA games, its quality doesn’t suffer in the slightest. There are numerous activities to engage in and an abundance of unique builds to experiment with within the game.
In essence, the game features three primary character types: The Mighty Knight, The Fierce Huntress, and The Mischievous Mage. Interestingly, each of these classes has three distinct specializations, which we refer to as subclasses within the game. While there’s a vast array of skills and equipment that contribute to build diversity, essentially, you have nine main categories, or “large classes,” that you can easily transition between.
How to Select Different Characters in The Slormancer
Initially when you launch the game, it prompts you to pick one of the three available characters. You’re told that you can swap your choice later in the game at any point. However, if you wish to switch characters, you’ll need to advance a bit within the Graveyard area and complete the optional levels: Nocturnal Escape and Great Escape.
Upon opening, you’ll discover that the three heroes are stationed in distinct spots around town. The formidable Knight can be found close to the Harbor, more precisely at the southwest corner of the map. The skilled Huntress is positioned near the Slorm Reaper Enthusiast, specifically where the stairs ascend from the harbor. Lastly, the cunning Mage is stationed next to the Blacksmith, and he’s located at the foot of the stairs leading down from his Forge.
How to Change Specializations in The Slormancer

Switching your character’s specialization may be simpler than you imagine. To start with, you must advance your character to level 10. Once you reach this point, you’ll be able to select your initial specialization, which comes with unique benefits and a supporting skill.
After choosing your area of expertise, feel free to toggle among the three options whenever you like. To do this, simply access your Skills panel (key ‘C’ by default), then select the specialization you wish to change to on the left side of the screen. Once chosen, hit the bottom button labeled “[Specialization Name]” and marvel as the transformation takes place.
The main disadvantage when switching specializations is that your proficiency in providing assistance doesn’t carry over from one class to another.
