Now that he’s among the Aiel, his task is to rally their support for the upcoming battle. Throughout this journey, Rand has been a puzzling character; at times, it seems he masterfully wields his powers, while other moments suggest an overconfidence in them. However, with this latest challenge, he must demonstrate his worthiness and pass this critical test.
Instead, we find Nynaeve, Elayne, and Mat facing Liandrin in search of the missing amulet, or collar. The trio, along with others, are on a mission to locate it before Liandrin misuses these potent items for harmful purposes. Can they retrieve the collar? Will Rand demonstrate his value? Let’s explore where Season 3 of the Prime Video series, The Wheel of Time, concludes.
What was The Wheel of Time Season 3 all about?

In the start of the third series of “The Wheel of Time”, there was an epic confrontation within the White Tower among the Aes Sedai, led by Liandrin who aimed to depose Siuan due to her knowledge about the Dragon Reborn. On the other hand, Siuan sought to expose Liandrin’s ties with the Dark One. However, Liandrin and her followers managed to escape the city, eventually becoming known as the Black Ajah. Simultaneously, Moiraine struck a bargain with Lanfear, who would create obstacles in Rand al’Thor’s path to help him master his powers better for the upcoming major battle. Eventually, the group split into three separate parties and embarked on their individual journeys.
Perrin’s group headed towards Two Rivers, whereas Rand, Moiraine, al’Lan, Egwene, Aviendha, and Min ventured into the Aiel Waste. On the contrary, Nynaeve, Elayne, Mat remained in the city. Over seven episodes, Rand encountered numerous challenges to reach Rhuidean, where he discovered about his ancestors and fate. In contrast, Moiraine also uncovered her destiny, often finding herself in Lanfear’s deadly grasp. Meanwhile, Nynaeve, Elayne, Mat, and Min journeyed to Tanchico to face Liandrin. The Black Ajahs were making their way into Tanchico to find a remaining bracelet and collar that could aid them in vanquishing the Dragon Reborn. Yet, they weren’t alone; a Forsaken named Moghedien was also present and monitoring both parties. Thankfully, Nynaeve and her group secured one of the bracelets and kept it concealed. However, Moghedien utilized her abilities to take that bracelet from them.
In another part of their world, Perrin guided the inhabitants of Two Rivers into a conflict against the Trollocs, and engaged in combat with Padan Fain. As preparations for the battle were underway, Alanna discovered that Mat’s sisters possessed the ability to channel power, which she then trained to utilize during the impending fight. As the battle reached its conclusion, the people of Two Rivers emerged victorious against the Trollocs, with the aid of Maksim, Faile, Loial, Chiad, and Bain. However, at the end of the conflict, Perrin was apprehended by the White Cloaks to uphold justice in the name of the light.
In the climactic Season 3 episode, Rand stands on trial before various Aiel clans and their leaders. However, Lanfear is determined to thwart this trial and employs all means possible to do so. Eventually, Rand becomes aware of Lanfear’s ulterior motives and decisively pushes her aside. Simultaneously, Nynaeve, Mat, Elayne, and Min are in pursuit of a collar, as they must locate it before Liandrin finds it. Moghedien has given the second bracelet to Liandrin, and all she requires now is the collar.
In their search, Thom reveals some truths to Elayne – that he was assigned to protect her life when she was young, and that Gabriel is a Forsaken. This revelation leads Nynaeve to discover the collar, which she keeps concealed in her bag. Unfortunately, Liandrin detects it and utilizes her powers to hurl Nynaeve into the sea. However, Nynaeve employs her own abilities to escape the perilous situation.
How did The Wheel of Time Season 3 end?

Towards the end of the final episode, a team from the White Tower ventures into the forest and calls some members of the Red Ajah back. However, these Ajah members refuse to return, asserting they must fulfill their duty. The Amyrlin Seat, who is Siuan, cannot compel them otherwise due to their dedication. When Verin inquires about this duty, the Red Ajahs reveal they intend to keep her and her group away from the Tower. This is because Elaida, another candidate for the Amyrlin seat, aims to usurp Siuan. In the hall, Siuan finds Elaida seated on the throne, already accompanied by a new warder. Throughout the season, Elaida has sought to oust Siuan from her position, and in the early minutes of the finale, viewers were reminded of how Siuan won the seat ten years ago. As of the present day, Siuan is outnumbered, and Elaida initiates a vote to claim the throne. Additionally, Elaida accuses Siuan of being a Darkfriend and collaborating with the Shadow to conceal the Dragon’s presence. With the help of other Aes Sedai, Elaida attempts to weaken Siuan.
In the Aiel community, Rahvin and Lanfear witness Moghedien slay Sammael. Lanfear advises Rahvin to choose a side, implying that he must align with her or face Moghedien’s retribution. Understanding that Rand declined Lanfear’s aid and rejected him, she reveals her intention to eliminate the Dragon Reborn. However, during the trial and the introduction of the Dragon Reborn, Sevanna, a leader of the Shaido clan, discloses that Couladin is the Dragon Reborn. Startled, he displays the “dragon” markings on his wrists, indicating his desire to visit Rhuidean and successfully passing the trial there. It turns out that Lanfear had given him these markings earlier in their tent. Without delay, Rand shares with the Aiel people that their ancestors tasked them with seeking the Dragon Reborn in the Wetlands, and they were sent to find him, proclaiming him as the genuine Car’a’Carn.
In the White Tower, a wounded Siuan rises and witnesses Elaida being proclaimed as the new Amyrlin Seat. She requests Siuan to speak honestly, and Siuan admits her affection for Moiraine, who is creating a barrier over the location where Rand is attempting to unite the Aiel. She fears Lanfear will come for her, and this is the only means they can thwart her. Siuan emphasizes she won’t reveal Moiraine’s location and would sacrifice herself to safeguard her. She informs the entire court that twenty years ago, Gitara Sedai perceived the Dragon had been reborn, and Siuan and Moiraine were among those present during the claim. Meanwhile, tensions escalate within the Aiel as Rand shares his Rhuidean visions and explains how he witnessed his past through his ancestors’ eyes. Elsewhere, Lanfear assaults Moiraine, much like in one of her Rhiudean visions. Not all are pleased with Rand’s decision to disclose his visions, but he remains resolute. Despite the Aiel clan chief’s efforts to halt him, Rand asserts that he was born for this purpose and asks if they will follow the “way of the leaf.” He terms them “oathbreakers,” which seems to drive a wedge among them by listening to Rand. Meanwhile, Moiraine battles Lanfear in an effort to resist her.
At the White Tower, Siuan unequivocally states they no longer hold the greatest power or authority in the world. She queries everyone’s loyalty towards Elaida, a figure seemingly devoid of principles. Siuan remains steadfast and resolute, choosing not to submit. Consequently, she is condemned, leading to her apparent demise at the hands of the Amyrlin Seat’s guardian. Simultaneously, Lanfear lunges at Moiraine with a blade. Upon learning that Siuan has perished, Moiraine becomes enraged and assaults Lanfear. Despite coming extremely close to vanquishing her, Moiraine allows Lanfear to escape.
In the final scene of Season 3 for “The Wheel of Time,” Rand demonstrated his powers by manipulating the weather to rain down, causing all to believe that he was indeed the true Car’a’Carn. This unity led everyone to follow him. Meanwhile, Egwene observed this and pleaded with him to desist, but he simply ignored her.
