The Wheel Of Time Showrunner Wants To Introduce More [Spoiler] In Future Seasons

Summary

  • Season 4 of The Wheel of Time could feature new Forsaken characters.
  • The TV series may only showcase 8 out of 13 Forsaken.
  • Fans speculate that Asmodeon may be the last Forsaken to make an appearance in the TV series.

The television series titled “The Wheel of Time” has broadcasted its last episode for Season 3. Showrunner Rafe Judkins disclosed additional insights regarding the season finale.

The television series titled “The Wheel of Time,” created by Judkins, premiered on Amazon Prime Video in November 2021. Two years later, in September 2023, the second season was released, with a third season airing on March 13, 2025. The latest season’s final episode has recently concluded, leaving viewers with a somber and emotional conclusion. Although an official confirmation for Season 4 hasn’t been given yet, there are still stories left to be told. As such, fans are anxiously anticipating its renewal. Judkins is optimistic that the series will continue for additional seasons and has even hinted at his ideas for Season 4.

Prior to the finale, Judkins had a chat with The Hollywood Reporter. During this conversation, it was observed that Season 3 of “The Wheel of Time” introduced several Forsaken, with more yet to make their appearance. Intriguingly, Judkins hinted at the inclusion of additional Forsaken in Season 4, mentioning that they have already set up a path for a “couple” of new and possibly familiar Forsaken to emerge in the upcoming season. He was cautious about revealing too much but expressed his excitement about these characters fans will look forward to seeing on screen. He also emphasized the importance of the Forsaken in the narrative, particularly their portrayal in the books, hinting that they will continue to play a significant role as the story progresses.

The dynamic among the Forsaken proves captivating and intriguing within the novels, and it’s our intention to carry that forward in the series, while also introducing additional members of this enigmatic group.

In the book, there are 13 Forsaken characters, but the TV series is suggesting that it will only portray eight of them. Given the uncertainty about whether the show will continue beyond its current seasons, this seems plausible. So far, Season 4 has not been confirmed, but Rosamund Pike, who plays Moraine Damodred and also serves as a producer, is optimistic that they’ll have more episodes. She describes The Wheel of Time as a grand production, and feels fortunate that Amazon and Sony have it.

Fans speculate that the TV series will feature only eight of the 13 Forsaken because in Episode 5 of Season 1, “Blood Calls Blood,” Stepin has an altar with eight statues representing the Forsaken – four females and four males. Seven of these have already been cast – Ishamael (Fares Fares), Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe), Moghedien (Laia Costa), Sammael (Cameron Jack), Rahvin (Nuno Lopes), but only five of the seven have been given faces – Ishamael, Lanfear, Moghedien, Sammael, and Rahvin. The remaining two, Graendal and Semirhage, have only been named so far, leaving fans curious about who will play these roles in the show.

It seems that Asmodeon might be the final Forsaken character to appear in the series, given that the sixth statue on Stepin’s altar appears to play a guitar, which aligns with Asmodeon’s background as a musician during the Age of Legends. If Amazon renews the show for additional seasons, viewers can look forward to seeing all 13 Forsaken characters without faces and potentially confirming that Asmodeon is indeed the eighth one. Let’s hope the series maintains its quality and audience numbers so it can continue until it covers the entire book, rather than just showing eight Forsaken characters as some might expect. With more source material available, there’s always room for the show to exceed expectations.

All three seasons of The Wheel of Time stream on Amazon Prime Video.
