In the “Hearts of Stone” expansion for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” the character Geralt of Rivia encounters a generous amount of fresh content to explore, such as the possibility of enjoying romance without any repercussions. Players might recall that in the original game, Geralt was bound to a single serious relationship to avoid solitude.
In the expansion titled “Hearts of Stone,” romance is handled as a separate storyline, allowing Geralt to enjoy some lighthearted flirtation during his latest assignment without worrying about Yennefer or Triss discovering. Notably, in the “Blood & Wine” expansion, there’s no opportunity to form a romantic relationship with Anna Henrietta, making this expansion the unique occasion where such an option exists.

As “A Midnight Clear” unfolds, Geralt is given the mission to lift her spirits. Earlier in the day, Shani shares with Geralt her fondness for Rowan trees, a detail that can also be found in her character profile.
Complete A Midnight Clear:
- Using Geralt’s witcher senses, look for the Rowan tree in the courtyard.
- There are several items to find, though the Rowan seems best.
- Bring the item to Shani.
- A dialogue will begin; choose “You’ve got me” and “Kiss sure didn’t sate me.”
In this scenario, Shani extends an invitation to Geralt for an evening stroll. There’s another dialogue option available, but revealing its consequences might spoil the experience. Geralt and Shani share an isolated evening together, away from their usual surroundings. They plan to meet again in the morning, but Shani informs him that her duties require her at the frontlines. The romance between them is brief, mirroring Kiera’s in terms of its impact on your relationships with Yennefer and Triss. Despite Geralt’s apparent preference for Yennefer in the TV series, Shani’s romance offers a welcome diversion for the weary witcher.
