TheBurntPeanut Just Threatened to Quit ARC Raiders

TheBurntPeanut, one of the most popular streamers playing ARC Raiders, says he’ll stop playing the game if the developers at Embark Studios don’t address the widespread cheating. During a recent livestream, the usually cheerful and funny content creator voiced his frustration with ARC Raiders, stating he’ll quit if the issues aren’t fixed.

Peanut first gained popularity playing Escape from Tarkov, but he became a well-known figure in the gaming world with the release of ARC Raiders last year. He really grabbed people’s attention after a public disagreement – often called a ‘war’ – with another ARC Raiders streamer, HutchMF. This quickly went viral, with players showing their support for each streamer by dressing their characters accordingly. Although some weren’t happy with the conflict, it generated a lot of buzz for Embark’s second game and boosted its success.

TheBurntPeanut Calls on Embark to Remove ARC Raiders Cheaters

Despite being one of ARC Raiders‘ biggest supporters and bringing thousands of eyes to the title every single day, TheBurntPeanut has become just the latest streamer to call on Embark to fix the game’s cheating problem. During a recent live stream (and clipped by a user on Twitter), Peanut and fellow streamers Cloakzy and Nickmercs were dominated by the same cheaters repeatedly, leading Peanut to make a bold statement. “I’m gonna make a formal thing. Embark, fix this or, like, I’m out of here,” he said. He goes on to say, “I’m actually out of here. Give us something, or I’m actually out of here. This is ridiculous.”

Most viewers of TheBurntPeanut know him as an energetic and positive streamer, but his recent comments about ARC Raiders were surprisingly serious. He, along with other content creators, is becoming frustrated with the ongoing problem of cheaters in the game. Shroud, another popular Twitch streamer, has also been critical of ARC Raiders and its developer, Embark, saying they seem unable to manage the hackers. This criticism is noteworthy because Shroud has been a strong supporter of ARC Raiders since its release last October, even predicting it could be Game of the Year. Although it didn’t receive that nomination, ARC Raiders did win Best Multiplayer Game.

Look, as someone who loves playing games and watches a lot of streamers, I totally get why people like TheBurntPeanut and Shroud are constantly asking for fixes in ARC Raiders. It’s super frustrating when you see cheaters ruining the experience. The good news is Embark actually did tackle the cheating problem and says they’re working hard to make the game more secure. They announced last week they’re changing how the game works and adding new ways to catch cheaters. We even started seeing bans right after that, but honestly, a lot of us were disappointed they weren’t permanent bans. Temporary bans just don’t feel like enough when cheaters keep coming back.

More updates for ARC Raiders are likely coming soon. The game has been a huge success, selling over 12 million copies, so the developers at Embark are focusing on keeping it great after launch. Their latest update, released recently, adjusted some weapon stats – they slowed down the firing rate of the Kettle and tweaked the Trigger Nade to address player concerns. While this update didn’t add any new content, rumors suggest a new Map Modifier could arrive as early as next week now that the Cold Snap event has ended.
