In the virtual world of Palworld, players are treated to a variety of diverse landscapes ripe for exploration. Navigating these expansive areas on foot could prove time-consuming. To expedite travel, players can acquire mounts and utilize them during their journeys instead. These mountable creatures are abundant within the game, offering numerous options for selection. However, there are certain creatures that, despite their unique qualities or popularity, cannot be ridden, which the developers of Pocketpair might consider reconsidering.
When choosing which Pals can be ridden in Palworld, Pocketpair might have taken various factors into account, like whether they can be mounted, if players want this option, or if they offer unique ways of transportation. This results in a variety of creatures that make traveling more convenient or enjoyable for different players. However, there are five Pals that didn’t qualify initially but could have served as excellent mounts. These five are potential candidates to become rideable in future updates by Pocketpair.
Lovander
The Passionate Pal Who’s Always on the Prowl
- Elements: Neutral
- Locations: Twiliight Dunes, Dessicrated Desert, Mount Obsidian
Although it’s debatable due to its practice of kidnapping victims for intimate encounters, there’s no denying that the ability to transform into a steed would be captivating and enjoyable. Known for its swiftness in capturing its prey, this creature is likely agile, making it an ideal mount. Furthermore, this beast offers Pocketpair the chance to create unique riding animations, where the player can be held securely within its arms during travel, potentially leading to numerous humorous and memorable traveling experiences.
Orserk
The Roaring Thunder That Primarily Shocks Its Adversaries
- Elements: Dragon, Electric
- Locations: No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary
It might seem logical that catching an Orserk in the game Palworld would allow you to ride it, but unfortunately, this isn’t true. Perhaps, the developers could transform it into a mountable Pal character, as there are several aspects that make it a good candidate for such a feature:
- is one of the only dragon-type Pals that cannot be ridden, which can be seen as a missed opportunity given that its characteristics make it a perfect mount
- Being able to get on the monster would have provided the opportunity for people to use its special attack of throwing an electrified trident at targets, something that many would likely enjoy doing
- While the creature may be dangerous to ride due to how it generates electricity, Pocketpair could have made a craftable item that would have allowed it, allowing for a new mechanic that can enhance gameplay
Penking

The Penguin-Like Pal Deemed as the Pioneer of the Frozen Sea
- Elements: Water, Ice
- Locations: No. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary, North of the Desolate Church
In the vibrant world of Palworld, there’s nothing quite as exhilarating as taming a Penking and turning it into a mount. The moment you capture this Pal, you’ll instantly understand why it’s a must-have companion. This unique creature is armed with an extraordinary move called the Emperor’s Slide. With a swift wave of its body, it creates a frosty gust, gliding towards enemies and delivering a powerful slam.
The sheer thrill of using this attack as a means of travel is unparalleled, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that no other mount can provide. As a player, I can’t wait to harness the power of the Emperor’s Slide and cruise through Palworld in style!
Foxcicle

The Majestic Pal With Claws of Ice
- Elements: Ice
- Locaiton: Frostbound Mountains
Among all the creatures that can’t be ridden, it’s the one that seems most puzzling. It bears resemblance to other monsters that can be mounted, like for instance, and this raises a question about its exclusion from such treatment. Add to that its striking appearance and combat prowess, it would be wise for Pocketpair to reconsider making it rideable.
Menasting

A Dangerous Pal Known as the Unstoppable Stinger
- Elements: Dark, Ground
- Locations: The Desiccated Mineshaft, No.2 Wildlife Sanctuary, Desert of Sakurajima
In the game ‘Palworld’, catching a Menasting should ideally grant players the ability to traverse the world utilizing its swift movement. Regrettably, this isn’t currently possible. Given its resemblance to a scorpion, it could have added an intriguing feature allowing it to cling to and move across vertical surfaces such as mountainsides or buildings. Its distinctive appearance and suggested functionality make it a fitting candidate for mounting in the game.
The strategy for Palworld indicates that it intends to enhance its creatures (Pals) before leaving early access. This could potentially mean some alterations or upgrades for specific creatures. If Pocketpair were to transform a few into mounts, these should be prioritized due to their capabilities and the chances squandered by not making them rideable initially.
