As a seasoned survivor of numerous horror games, I must say that “Fear the Spotlight” has certainly piqued my interest with its intricate puzzles and spine-tingling atmosphere. The combination lock on the Toolbox reminded me of those old safes back home in rural Kentucky, where I’d spend hours trying to crack open with nothing but a paperclip and sheer determination.
The game “Fear the Spotlight” offers thrilling puzzles, and one of the initial challenges players face is figuring out how to open a golden-doored room with a statue standing guard. Upon approaching and examining the door, it becomes clear that the statue’s hands are reaching out. Experienced horror enthusiasts will quickly realize they must discover an item for the statue’s hand to unlock the door.
To make progress in the game, you need to figure out the puzzle and unlock the door. There’s a special reward associated with it called the Thorned Key, which you’ll earn once you successfully open the door. Here is a guide on how to solve the Rose Door riddle in Fear the Spotlight and collect this achievement.
Rose Door Puzzle Solution in Fear the Spotlight
Following the library fire in the initial part of “Fear the Spotlight”, you’ll wind up in a School Hallway. Continue onward, and a door will automatically open at the end of the corridor. At this point, you’ll notice a door adorned with a Golden Statue – this is the Rose Door. Engage with it and examine the extended hand to add a new task to your To-Do List.
As a gamer, I’ve got to get my hands on a Screwdriver and some Pliers to unlock the mystery of the Rose Door. These tools will guide me to the Locker Room where I can gather the Metal Rose that holds the key to opening it.
How to Find the Toolbox
Following your encounter with the Rose Door, proceed along the right corridor and locate the door on your right-hand side. This will lead you to the Locker Room. Give a glance at the window situated to your left, and you’ll spot a toolbox resting on a table. For now, you won’t be able to access the Office; you’ll need to acquire the Office Keycard before that becomes possible.
As you dash through the corridor past the Rose Door, keep an eye out for a Phantom that’s hard to spot, but there’s no need to be alarmed – it poses no threat to you.
Thoroughly examine the surroundings and review all the written information. On the left wall of the locker room, you’ll notice a spot of soil with a shining Metal Rose sticking out from it. Engage with the soil patch, dig it up, and you’ll discover that the Rose is being held by some hands. Additionally, there will be a vending machine in the room, and inside it at slot B34, you’ll find a box of Welding Glue.
Head towards the washroom located on the left side and take a look at the bag that’s resting on the table inside. Unzip the bag to retrieve the office keycard. Also, pick up the inhaler that is situated near the trash can behind you.
To access the office and interact with the toolbox, you’ll first need your Office Keycard. The toolbox has a combination lock that requires the password, which can be found in a note situated near the lockers within the office. The password is 001. Once unlocked, you may retrieve the Screwdriver from the toolbox. Unfortunately, the Pliers are currently broken and will need to be repaired before they can be used again.
You’ll get an achievement if you unlock the Toolbox without reading the Note with the password.
How to Fix the Broken Pliers
To mend the faulty pliers, you’ll require the Welding Adhesive that you spotted inside the Vending Machine earlier. But first, you need to gather some quarters. Locate the vent within the Office using the Screwdriver and squeeze through the opening by crouching. Move past the debris on the other side and engage with the window to access the Locker Room of the Boy.
To access the restroom, there’s a barrier, but you can squeeze through a hidden space in the wall. Enter and locate the grating on the floor. Use the screwdriver to undo the screws holding it down, and you’ll discover two quarters hidden underneath. Go ahead and grab them.
Alright, mate! Time to revisit that Vending Machine again. However, beware, your debut with the Spotlight Head is waiting for you in the Boy’s Locker Room, right after you squeeze out through the hole. This creature, quite peculiar, sports a spotlight for a head – yes, you read it right! Avoid direct contact as it can’t be vanquished. Instead, sneak past it and make a hasty retreat to the window. Tread carefully, lest your footsteps trigger its attention; if you find yourself in its light, it’ll drag you closer, causing harm. But don’t fret! The area offers ample cover, and even if it catches you off guard once, a swift dash to the window will set you free.
How to Escape the Spotlight Head Without Getting Spotted
In my gaming adventure, I found a challenge: sneaking past the Spotlight Head unnoticed. It pays off to remain unseen! Should I get caught, I can always return to the main menu for another attempt by clicking ‘continue’.
Use the Inhaler to heal if you get caught by the Spotlight Head.
Head back to the vending machine, pop in a quarter, and press button B34 to obtain some welding glue. Once you have it, apply it to the broken pliers and take hold of them.
How to Get the Metal Rose
Utilize the pliers you have, retrace your steps to the Golden Rose located in the Locker Room. Once there, employ the pliers to detach each finger from the rose. Afterward, proceed back to the Rose Door and apply it to the hands to open the door. Upon passing through the door, you’ll notice a message notifying you of earning the Thorned Key achievement/trophy on your screen.
Fear the Spotlight” delivers a traditional survival horror adventure packed with challenging brain teasers. Although the Rose Door riddle might not stump most gamers, as the story unfolds, you’ll face puzzles that could leave you pondering for quite some time. It’s this element of mystery that makes “Fear the Spotlight” all the more exciting.
