More than 6,000 players of the popular game ARC Raiders have requested the addition of functional handcuffs. ARC Raiders has quickly become a major hit since launching in late October 2025, attracting millions of players. The game’s unique blend of player-versus-player and player-versus-environment gameplay has created memorable social experiences, and it’s now a nominee for Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards 2025.
It’s still uncertain if ARC Raiders will win Best Multiplayer at The Game Awards, but it’s definitely a contender. Even if it doesn’t win this year, the game could still win awards in the future. As a live-service game, ARC Raiders will likely be eligible for awards like Best Ongoing Game and Best Community Support at future Game Awards ceremonies.
How well ARC Raiders does in the long run depends on Embark Studios consistently adding exciting new content. They’ve started strong with the Stella Montis update, which introduced a new map centered around player-versus-player combat. More updates are planned, including the upcoming Cold Snap update featuring the Flickering Flames event. Players are also sharing their ideas for future content, and a popular Reddit post has gained significant support requesting the addition of usable handcuffs to the game.
ARC Raiders Petition Calls for Handcuffs
Currently, players in ARC Raiders mainly break down handcuffs to get crafting materials like Metal Parts. However, one player started a petition on Reddit asking the developers to let players actually use the handcuffs on each other. The idea is that players could restrain others by cuffing their hands, preventing them from using weapons, or even cuff them to objects, potentially leaving them vulnerable to the game’s robots or the final, destructive event.
Some players of the game ARC Raiders are suggesting a unique way to deal with those who betray others. ARC Raiders involves a lot of player interaction, ranging from teamwork to player-versus-player combat. A common frustration is players who pretend to be friendly – using signals like the “Don’t shoot!” emote – only to attack and steal from those they’ve tricked. One player proposed using in-game handcuffs as a punishment, suggesting it would teach these deceptive players a lesson.
This concept has a lot of promise and could make the player-versus-player experience in ARC Raiders even more engaging. While it’s unknown if Embark Studio is considering it, they’ve proven they pay attention to player feedback – they quickly added a Duos mode after players requested it. So, it will be interesting to see if they implement something like usable handcuffs. For now, we’re eager to see what official updates Embark has in store for ARC Raiders in the coming months.
