TikTok is Already Starting to Come Back Online in The US

TikTok has stated that their services will return online following the services ban earlier today.

The statement came from the official X (formerly Twitter) account of TikTok, which reads:

TikTok, following an understanding with its service partners, is working on resuming operations. We’re grateful to President Trump for offering the essential guidance and assurance that these providers will not be penalized for continuing to provide TikTok to more than 170 million users and supporting over 7 million small businesses.

They went on to say, “We’re taking a firm stance in support of the First Amendment and against unwarranted censorship. We aim to collaborate with President Trump to develop a lasting solution that ensures TikTok remains operational within the U.S.

Earlier today, TikTok had to restrict its service for U.S. users due to the U.S.’s decision to prohibit the app over safety and security issues. Other nations, including the UK, have declared they won’t join the U.S. in this ban, despite rumors that US allies could impose similar restrictions.

Darren Jones, who serves as the Chief Secretary to the Treasury in the UK, stated that cats and dancing videos don’t appear to pose a threat to national security.

Approximately 170 million users of the social media platform TikTok may be affected by its ban, alongside tens of thousands of content creators and small businesses that rely on it as a means of earning income.

The prohibition extended to Marvel Snap, a strategic digital card game produced by Second Dinner, within U.S. borders as well. To date, Second Dinner, expressing surprise over the restriction, has not provided any details regarding when Marvel Snap will be reinstated for American users.
