Time is Running Out to Claim the Free PS Plus Games for January 2026

PlayStation Plus members have until February 2nd to add January 2026’s free games to their library. After that date, these games will no longer be available, and a new selection of free games will be released for PS Plus subscribers.

This month’s PlayStation Plus free games have been available to download since January 6th. They are Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, Need for Speed Unbound, and Core Keeper.

The Next PS Plus Freebie Rotation Is Just Around the Corner

Sony will be updating the free games offered with PlayStation Plus next month, as they do every month. The new games will be available starting February 3rd, so if you want to claim the current January 2026 games, you’ll need to do so by February 2nd.

The free games for January 2026 offer a little something for everyone: Core Keeper is a creative survival game focused on building and systems, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a fun, family-friendly adventure with classic Disney characters, and Need for Speed Unbound is a high-quality arcade racer where you can heavily customize your cars. Of the three, Core Keeper has received the best reviews, with an average score of 87 on OpenCritic – putting it in the top 2% of all games on the site. It’s also one of the highest-rated free games ever offered with PlayStation Plus, based on both critic and player reviews.

Unlike those titles, Epic Mickey: Rebrushed and Need for Speed Unbound both received scores in the mid-70s on OpenCritic. Interestingly, while Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a remake of a 2010 Wii game, it’s been much better received by players on the PlayStation Store (4.38 stars) compared to Need for Speed Unbound (3.08 stars). Core Keeper stands out as well, offering players the option to play together in co-op mode.

Sony hasn’t explained why they’re offering an additional game this month, but it’s a nice bonus for subscribers.
