Kraven’s relentless pursuit of Spider-Man, culminating in his burial alive for two weeks, was a testament to the depth of their rivalry. The psychological torture that followed, as Kraven attempted to fill Spidey’s shoes and failed miserably, showed just how much this story resonated with readers.

What I found most fascinating about this story was how it highlighted the contrast between Kraven’s single-minded obsession and Peter’s inherent humanity. Even though Kraven managed to defeat Spider-Man, he ultimately failed in his quest to be a better hero. In the end, it’s the humanity that sets Spider-Man apart, even when he’s pushed to the brink.
