Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of Hunter x Hunter, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he’s completed the manuscript for chapter 411. This is good news, showing he’s actively working on the manga. However, there’s still no confirmed release date for the next chapter. It seems Shueisha, the publisher, is also being careful not to rush Togashi, likely to avoid overworking him – a problem they’ve been known for in the past.
Fans are wondering when Hunter x Hunter will come back. While the last chapter was released in December 2024, and many expected Chapter 411 to follow quickly, there haven’t been any announcements from the author, Togashi, or the publisher, Shueisha, suggesting a release is imminent. It’s best for fans not to expect it too soon.
Hunter x Hunter Anime Might Return In The Future
Hunter x Hunter has been adapted into anime twice. The first version, created by Nippon Animation, aired in 1999 and had 62 episodes. While fans enjoyed it, the 2011 adaptation is considered much better. This second version was produced by Madhouse and is highly rated, currently ranking ninth on MyAnimeList with a score of 9.03 based on over 3 million votes – demonstrating the anime’s widespread popularity.
The 2011 anime series covered 148 episodes and adapted around 340 chapters of the manga. The manga has continued with an additional 70 chapters since then, meaning there’s enough material for another season. However, the studio might hesitate to make one, as it could cause the anime to catch up to the manga, which presents challenges.
It doesn’t seem likely the anime will be back for a few years. However, it’s certain that Hunter x Hunter will return eventually.
