Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2 Coming January 2025

Back in 2022, I was thrilled to learn about the upcoming “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun” project, with the initial installment being the spin-off series, “After-School Hanako-kun.” This captivating show ran for four episodes from October to November in 2023. I can hardly wait as another four episodes of the sequel are scheduled to air starting October 7 this year! The production team for these upcoming sequels is Studio Lerche, who were instrumental in animating the first season of the anime. Yohei Fukui, known for his work on “Mr. Osomatsu” season 2, will be taking over as director from Masaomi Andō. Other notable staff members include Yasuhiro Nakanishi, responsible for scripts in “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War,” who will handle series composition and character designs for both the first season and “After-School Hanako-kun.” Mayuka Itō, the character designer for “After-School Hanako-kun,” will also be contributing to the sequel’s character designs. I can hardly contain my excitement!

In the upcoming sequel to “After-School Hanako-kun,” Masaki Kitamura resumes his role as director, with Kazuma Nagatomo handling the series script and Satoki Iida overseeing sound direction. Takaki Hiroshi contributes the music, while Aya Higami, who was a character designer in “Scum’s Wish,” steps up as chief animation director. Mizuho Shimada, known for her work on “Black Clover,” is the cinematographer, and Saki Tada handles the color design. The cast includes Megumi Ogata (Shinji Ikari from “Neon Genesis Evangelion”), who voices Hanako-kun, and Nezuko Kamado’s voice actress, Minako Satō, as Nene Yashiro. Aoi Akane is voiced by Kiri Shirasawa’s voice actor, Minako Satō, while Kō Minamoto and Akane Aoi are voiced by Shōya Chiba and Shunichi Toki respectively, known for their roles in “Classroom of the Elite” and “Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.”
