There’s a strong possibility that the eagerly awaited collection remaster of Tomb Raider 4-6 could eventually come out as a physical copy, hinted by a representative from the publishing company. The thrilling escapades of Lara Croft have been a gaming legend since the inception of the franchise on the original PlayStation. Over the years, the Tomb Raider series has undergone several revamps and remasters, including the Crystal Dynamics reboot and the resurrection of the initial trilogy with Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered. Now, more of Lara Croft’s timeless adventures are poised for a comeback.
In the wake of the impressive success of last year’s remastered trilogy of Tomb Raider 1-3, publisher Aspyr has announced their plans to carry on with the franchise, offering additional remasters. The upcoming collection, named Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered, will encompass three iconic games from the series’ golden age, including Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. Remarkably, this trilogy will also include previously omitted content, reinstating certain dialogues that were initially removed from Angel of Darkness. Excited fans of the Tomb Raider series may be in for even more thrilling updates soon.
Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered Teases Physical Release
According to NintendoLife’s report, Aspyr may plan a physical edition for the remastered version of Tomb Raider 4-6. When questioned about a possible physical release, Aspyr’s brand manager Matthew Ray indicated that further information will be disclosed shortly regarding the remastered Tomb Raider games. Ray also implied that Aspyr appreciates the significance of physical media in the nostalgic gaming experience, which could suggest additional news related to the Tomb Raider series. The remastered version of Tomb Raider 4-6 is set to debut later this week on February 14.
It’s expected that the physical version of Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered will follow suit, much like its predecessors, by providing additional content exclusively to the physical copies. For instance, the physical release of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered was available in both a standard and collector’s edition. The collector’s version included unique items such as trading cards, action figures, and posters. Moreover, the deluxe edition of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered even came with replicas of Lara Croft’s famous pistols, enclosed in a shadowbox for display purposes.
The remastered versions of Tomb Raider 4-6 are here, marking a significant revival for the franchise in recent times. Following the release of the remastered editions of the first three games, Netflix debuted an animated series inspired by the franchise; Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft even earned a nomination for “Best Adaptation” at the 2024 Game Awards. In addition to this, Amazon is developing its own live-action Tomb Raider series for Prime Video, with a live-action Tomb Raider show currently in production. The remastered games offer fans another exciting journey through some of Lara Croft’s most iconic adventures.
