As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got to share some news about Crystal Dynamics, the brilliant minds behind the latest Tomb Raider series. They’ve recently made an announcement that they’ve had to let go of some team members at their studio. It’s always disheartening when talented creators face such challenges.
In a post on LinkedIn, the studio shared that they’ve had to make a challenging choice and release 17 employees from their team, acknowledging that this decision was not taken lightly.

“We understand the hardship this decision brings for those impacted and are offering support through transition packages and job search assistance.
As a dedicated gaming enthusiast, I can tell you that the studio stands firm in its mission to continually innovate and create exceptional video games. Rest assured, this declaration doesn’t impact any ongoing projects they have in the pipeline.
We’ve contacted Crystal Dynamics seeking further information about the assistance and transition benefits being provided to affected staff members at TopMob. If we get a reply, we’ll make sure to update this article appropriately.
2025 has seen many studios like Crystal Dynamics announce layoffs, with an estimated 1,500 positions being eliminated so far from around 50 different companies this year.
