Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was first revealed during the Nintendo Direct in September 2025, and is currently scheduled to release in Autumn 2026. A trailer accompanied the announcement, offering a quick look at the game’s features. We may learn the exact release date and see more gameplay during the next Nintendo Direct.
Tomodachi Life Nintendo Direct Scheduled for January 29
Nintendo has announced a new presentation for Tomodachi Life on Switch, airing January 29th at 6 AM Pacific Time. The 20-minute livestream will reveal more about the game, including its release date. You can watch it on YouTube or through the Nintendo Today app.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream lets you build and manage an island populated by Mii characters who live their lives independently. You can create unique Mii characters, customizing everything from how they look to their personality and voice. As the island’s caretaker, you’ll help them by listening to their thoughts, resolving their issues, and observing their relationships with each other.
Kensuke Tanabe, a key figure behind Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, has announced his retirement from Nintendo after the game’s completion.
