In Chapter 4 of the game titled “Poppy Playtime,” players venture deeper, exploring a secret prison situated beneath the Playtime Co. Factory. Their goal is to support Poppy in her struggle against the Prototype. Along the way, they’ll meet familiar and brand-new companions. However, they must be cautious as they progress, for “The Doctor” lies in wait, setting lethal traps to entertain himself while players traverse the lower parts of the facility.
Similar to the first three installments, Chapter 4 of Poppy Playtime is brimming with mysteries to unravel and hidden gems to discover. From the constant presence of Limon to some skillfully concealed hints about things to come, there’s a wealth of content waiting to be discovered as you delve into the ominous prison nestled beneath Playtime Co’s factory. The mysteries and hidden gems in this guide have been arranged according to when they can be found within the game. Keep in mind that spoilers are unavoidable here, so it would be best if you complete the chapter yourself or watch a playthrough before diving into this article.
Doey Advert Phone Number
Back when I first played this game, there was an Easter Egg hidden within the opening scene of “Doey the Doughman”. If you dialed the number shown in the ad at the start, it connected you to a message from Playtime Co. Initially, this number would play a longer, pre-recorded message. However, as I write this, that number no longer works as intended and just says “Goodbye”. Various sources have shared recordings of the original, extended message. Essentially, it seemed like a customer service line for Playtime Co., but the automated response asking you to wait, with all the “Customer Satisfaction Associates” being busy, eventually became distorted, filled with strange noises and what sounded like background screaming.
Limon

Among the Easter Eggs that bring joy to everyone, the character known as Limon is one that consistently reappears throughout the game. This elusive lemon, which can be found in every chapter, will announce itself when picked up using the Grab Pack. In an easy-to-miss location within a chapter early on, having Limon with you during your journey doesn’t offer any practical benefits but provides an entertaining challenge. If you accidentally let go of Limon, it will still call out its name.
Huggy Wuggy Foreshadowing
![](https://static0.gamerantimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/poppy-playtime_c4_huggy-wuggy_foreshadowing.jpg)
As a film enthusiast, I was taken aback by Huggy Wuggy’s sudden reappearance at the game’s climax, but upon reflection, there were hints scattered throughout that suggested his comeback. Even without the subtle foreshadowing from earlier chapters, Chapter 4 provided us with clear signs. For instance, the Hangman puzzle hidden in the initial prison block we explored depicted Huggy Wuggy lying on the ground, minus an arm – a detail reminiscent of his more worn-out look at the end of Chapter 4 and echoing the fall from that walkway way back in Chapter 1. This sketch served as a not-so-subtle hint that our furry friend would make another appearance.
The Soccer Goal (& Goalkeeper)
Upon reaching the Safe Sanctuary, you’ll spot a soccer goal smack dab in the middle and a ball close by. Should you employ the Grab Pack to send the ball sailing into the goal, over the cardboard cutout goalkeeper, one of several sound effects will be triggered. Interestingly, the goalkeeper is set up to move when a button concealed behind the goal is activated, possibly a toy-created gadget within the Safe Sanctuary.
Jeth Sones’ Book
In this chapter, environmental artist Seth Jones from Mob Entertainment receives a subtle mention through a book discovered within the Safe Haven. Multiple editions of the book titled “Umber Agden and the Pumpkin Lord,” authored by Jeth Sones, can be found scattered throughout the Safe Haven. One such copy is located behind the bar in the main area, while others are situated on the bookshelves adjacent to the infirmary.
The Smiling Critter’s and Nightmare Critter’s Zippers

This one’s quite clear, but it’s entertaining to notice if you can approach without them biting your face (Waving at you, Baba Chops!). Each of the Cheerful Creatures and Nightmarish Creatures comes with a distinctive label on their zipper, which you can see when you encounter them in the factory as well. Here’s a brief rundown of them, in case you’re interested.
Smiling Critter | Zipper |
Bubba Bubbaphant | Lightbulb |

Yarnaby’s Scars
![](https://static0.gamerantimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/poppy-playtime_c4_yarnaby.jpg)
It may be challenging to notice without using a free camera modification, but upon closer examination, you can spot some distressing scars on Yarnaby’s body in the provided image (even though they’re hard to make out due to lighting and glass). The exact cause of these scars is unclear – whether they were inflicted during conflicts with other toys or as a result of the Doctor’s “experiments” – but it certainly gives an unfortunate glimpse into Yarnaby’s past.
Escape The Doctor’s “Kill or Be Killed” Trap

As you make your way towards the doctor, expect challenging scenarios along the way. To leave this area, you’ll have to connect a plug to a gadget that houses one of the cheerful creatures, which will unfortunately result in their demise. However, it may seem like there are no other options; if you glance up at the ceiling, you can discover a hidden opening with a handle to pull. This secret escape route enables you to leave the chamber without causing harm to the innocent creatures, thus thwarting the doctor’s plans and continuing the story as usual.
The Time Tape (The Doctor and the Prototype)
![](https://static0.gamerantimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/12-time.jpg)
After overcoming The Doctor and obtaining the Omni-Hand, you’ll discover a tape hidden within a room concealed behind his main body. This recording provides insights into his dealings with the Prototype. It appears that the Doctor is trying to develop some kind of process for the Prototype, but it seems this method isn’t functioning correctly yet, causing the Prototype to become increasingly agitated with him. The specifics of this procedure remain a mystery at present, and various hypotheses suggest potential projects that The Doctor might have been engaged in. This recording is, as of now, the only known dialogue between The Doctor and the Prototype within the game, indicating their tense partnership.
The Untitled Tape (Poppy’s True Identity)
In the final stages of Chapter 4, you may stumble upon a significant artifact, often referred to as The Untitled Tape. This occurs during a thrilling chase with Doey. Once you manage to snatch it amidst the chase and defeat Doey in his battle, you’ll have the chance to listen to this crucial tape. The recording was made by Poppy prior to the “Hour of Joy” and reveals her relationship with Elliot Ludwig as his daughter. Additionally, it offers insights into the aftermath of the Hour of Joy and clarifies her intentions for destroying the factory.
Limited Use Omni-Hand?
While exploring Chapter 4, I observed that when you initially obtain the Omni-Hand, it features four glowing blue lights. Every time it’s employed to activate an object, one of these lights dims, suggesting that the Omni-Hand might only be usable four times. Since we utilized it four times in this chapter, there’s a chance it could malfunction in Chapter 5. This seems plausible given that the developers likely intend to restrict our use of a hand that provides unlimited access to the entire facility.
