Later on, Samwell Tarly, with his keen eye and thirst for knowledge, petitioned to be released from the Night’s Watch duties to instead pursue the title of Maester at the Citadel. There, he immersed himself in the study of history, politics, and healing – a wealth of knowledge that would ultimately prove invaluable as the years unfolded.
