Summary
- Sages excel in magical stats, proficient in Black and White Magic, but lack in physical stats.
- Tellah is a once-great Sage who struggles in Final Fantasy 4 due to age and memory loss.
- Final Fantasy games offer powerful Sage characters like Leonora and Sophia for magic combat.
Wise characters represent an advanced form of the Red Mage, having channeled all their ability points into magical attributes. As a result, they are proficient in employing both Dark and Light magic, but this versatility takes a toll on their already weak physical abilities.
Adventurers who appreciate a bit of risk and strategy will find joy in including a Sage character in their party, as they offer the best of both offensive and defensive capabilities. As long as they’re safeguarded from intense physical assaults, Sages can become a formidable challenge for opponents at higher levels within their respective “Final Fantasy” games.
8. Tellah
Way Past His Prime By The Time He Joins The Party
In the grand world of Final Fantasy 4, I, Tellah, was once a revered Sage at the peak of my powers. However, that’s not the Tellah fans are familiar with. The character they encounter is an elderly, feeble man who has suffered a loss of memories and must relearn the art of magic from scratch.
Though Tellah manages to obtain a number of potent spells, it’s evident that he’s well beyond his peak performance. This is made clear by the fact that his Magic Points (MP) are statically capped at 80, rendering him incapable of casting Meteor, despite mastering this spell again.
7. The Nu Mou
The Only Race Capable Of Being A Sage In The Final Fantasy Tactics Series
As a dedicated gamer, I’d say my journey with Final Fantasy Tactics was richly immersive, carrying a maturity that resonated deeply. However, when the series shifted to portable devices, it took a turn towards a brighter, more child-friendly direction. The sequels were filled with isekai storylines and delightful settings – a stark contrast from the original’s darker tone, but still captivating in their own unique way.
Nevertheless, this doesn’t detract from the merit of “Final Fantasy Tactics Advance” and its sequel, which offer captivating strategic gameplay and an entertaining job system. Players lucky enough to recruit Nu Mou race members into their party can transform them into Sages, providing a potent spellcaster capable of winning battles as long as players ensure their protection at all times.
6. Leonora
A Versatile Sage Who’s Useful Despite Her Physical Weakness
In the sequel titled “Final Fantasy 4: The After Years,” both fresh and familiar faces unite to confront a fresh danger. One of the newcomers in this installment is Leonora, a trainee from Epopt, who’s being guided by Palom to master Black Magic.
With her proficiency in White Magic and aspirations reminiscent of Tellah’s legendary Sage, it seems she is embarking on a journey towards becoming a sage herself, aiming to become a powerful magic user just like him.
5. Sophia
A Party Member Who Can Learn The Sage Job
In “Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin,” players embark on adventures with character Jack and his companions, traversing various regions and decimating larger foes. Accompanying Jack is Sophia, a formidable ally who can wield the Sage job’s abilities in battle.
To be able to take on the role of Sophia in combat as a potent spellcaster, players need to finish the quest titled “Ebon Memories: The Tragic Cynic” first. This will subsequently unlock the Sage job for her, expanding the strategic choices available during battles against formidable opponents.
4. Fusoya
One Of The Few Good Lunarians And A Very Powerful Sage
- Final Fantasy 4
In the realm of gaming, I found Fusoya to be a character shrouded in enigma – an unusual Lunarian among many, who surprisingly yearned for humanity’s survival instead of its extinction. He offered Cecil, my comrade, and our group valuable insights that helped us confront Zemus, the formidable adversary we were up against. Together, we fought to vanquish this powerful enemy once and for all.
At the gathering, Fusoya’s presence might be fleeting, yet he leaves an indelible mark due to his exceptional command of both light and dark sorcery. Essentially, he functions as a powerful late-game Mage, stunning players with his magical prowess.
3. Warrior Of Light
Final Fantasy 14’s Protagonist Can Learn And Master The Art Of Being A Sage
As a devoted fan, I can attest to the remarkable transformation that Final Fantasy 14 underwent from being a buggy MMO to an unrivaled masterpiece in its genre. The sheer dedication and commitment of Yoshi-P have significantly expanded his industry reputation, a testament to the extraordinary efforts he invested in resurrecting this game and restoring its honorable place within the esteemed Final Fantasy franchise.
The game allows characters to assume multiple roles, such as a Sage. Playing independently in this role might seem more challenging than anticipated, but it doesn’t diminish the Sage’s potency. As players progress, they will unlock numerous powerful spells from the Final Fantasy series, which can both heal allies and harm adversaries.
2. Jack Garland
The Protagonist Can Assume Almost Every Job In The Series, And The Sage Is No Exception
- Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin
As a die-hard fan of the Final Fantasy series, I must admit that Jack Garland is undeniably one of the most contentious characters. His brash demeanor often makes light of scenes intended to be somber and intense, yet despite his peculiar character traits, there’s no denying his prowess in battle. His combat skills truly do the talking!
He’s able to take on any role within the game, even that of the Sage. It’s always fascinating to see him dart around the battlefield in his white attire and launch powerful spells against his adversaries.
1. Luneth, Arc, Refia, And/Or Ingus
The Warriors Of Light Can Become Incredibly Powerful Sages
In the “Final Fantasy 3” game, a new character type called a Sage was introduced for the first time. If you focus on developing this role for one of your characters, you can significantly enhance its skills. Although the Sage has relatively low physical strength, its magical powers are incredibly powerful.
In a harmonious gathering, this role can outperform formidable adversaries and overbearing leaders. It is essential for players to safeguard any Sage figure from direct harm, as an unprotected magical titan might succumb in combat after just one blow.
