Last night in the Call of Duty League competition, Toronto Ultra lost their series against Boston Breach due to server problems that made them jump around erratically across the map, a phenomenon known as ‘rubber banding.’ During the Control round on Vault, the team’s frustration was evident in the face cams. After an extensive technical analysis, the match was officially declared over.
After the defeat, the team members expressed their thoughts on social media, with JoeDeceives being particularly outspoken about having to confront this issue repeatedly, implying that, despite repeated complaints, the League remains unchanged.
‘This is Hilarious’
During the game of Control on Vault, about halfway through, Toronto Ultra conceded defeat to Boston Breach, resulting in a 2-0 victory for Breach. Despite their impressive performances in the past few weeks such as a convincing win against Atlanta FaZe the day prior, this time around, Toronto Ultra couldn’t maintain their momentum.
JoeDeceives summed up the situation perfectly on social media:
Following all the troubles we’ve experienced (and other teams have faced) regarding online servers, we won’t subject ourselves to such issues again, given our poor performance in terms of lagging (rubber banding). Good luck, Boston team, let’s play next week.
After dealing with so much trouble on the online servers that we and other teams have experienced, we are determined not to go through that hassle again due to our poor performance in terms of lagging (rubber banding). Good luck, Boston team, let’s face off next week.
Time and again, we’ve voiced our concerns to the league without seeing any improvement; instead, the situation seems to be worsening. It’s almost comical.
As a gamer, I’ve got a personal coach who records my gameplay from the back. Yet, people still don’t believe us! It’s downright amusing that they have integrity cams right behind us, capturing all our perspectives, but they seem to do nothing with the footage. Just another pointless camera behind us for their entertainment, I guess.
Tempers flared as other pro players came out and made their accusations:

The Toronto Ultra’s upcoming match is scheduled for April 13 against the LA Thieves. Here’s hoping that any network problems get fixed before that date.
