The developers have officially announced that Total War: Medieval 3 is in development, though it’s currently in the very early stages of pre-production.
It’s been a long wait for fans of Total War: Medieval – the last game came out in 2006. But now, a new version, Medieval 3, has been announced! The developers recently revealed a lot of information about the game through a blog post and trailer.
Total War: Medieval 3 Will Be the Ultimate “What If” Game
The latest blog post includes an interview with Pawel Wojs, the game director of Total War: Medieval 3, who shared details about the upcoming game. Having worked on the series for nearly 20 years, Wojs is now leading the development of Medieval 3. The team aims to create a deeply immersive medieval sandbox experience, allowing players to explore alternate historical outcomes. You can find more information about their plans here.
The developers aim to create a deeply realistic experience by focusing on historical detail and making the game world react in believable ways. Currently in the very early stages of development, the game is still years from release. They’re now using Warxore, a significantly upgraded game engine, which offers improved tools for animation, graphics, and campaign creation – allowing them to depict the medieval period with a level of detail they haven’t been able to achieve before.
