As a long-time fan of the “Tower of God” webtoon, I was thrilled to see the second season come out with new episodes. In this latest installment, we follow Yeon Yihwa and Ja Wangnam as they compete once again in the Tower’s test, hoping to advance and gain their freedom.

As a long-time fan of Tower of God, I’ve eagerly awaited the release of Season 2, and I was thoroughly excited to watch Episode 2, “The Strongest Regular”. Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t seen it yet!

In the second installment of Tower of God‘s second season, the challenges faced by Ja Wangnam and fellow Regulars didn’t reach the same level of intensity as in the previous episode. This was because the new assessment they encountered bore resemblances to the power tests from the Dragon Ball series, requiring each contender to display their Shinsu mastery in order to secure one of eight progression spots.

Based on my extensive observation and analysis of the anime series “Tower of God,” I’ve come to strongly believe that Viole is indeed Bam. In episode 1, we were introduced to Viole’s incredible strength and resilience, which left a deep impression on me as a viewer. His actions and demeanor resonated with my own experiences of facing adversity and overcoming challenges in life.

The Haunting Memories

Viole Remembers She-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named

Tower of God Season 2: Viole Shows His Strength

The episode opens with Bam, formerly known as Viole, reflecting on the past moments he spent with his childhood friend, Rachel. She once narrated an enigmatic tale about a solitary man who fell in love with a shining star and constructed a tower solo to ascend and join it. Despite mockery from others, he persisted until reaching his beloved celestial body. Bam mused that the man’s company atop the tower must have been lonely. Rachel’s eyes flared with fury upon Bam’s seemingly harmless remark, but she kept her emotions in check and merely concurred with his observation. However, it is now apparent that Rachel’s animosity towards Bam originated much earlier than she was aware.

A Test of Strength Worries Ja Wangnam

– Prince, Tower of God Episode 2

When the latest batch of Regulars makes their appearance, I’m reminded of my encounters with a few familiar faces. There’s Ja Wangnam, whom I first met in episode one, and Yeon Yihwa, who took me under her wing during my previous attempt at the Level 20 exam. And let’s not forget Kim Lurker, the loan shark I owe quite a bit of money to – or my internal organs if I don’t pay up on time. Lurker shows up with his entourage, including Prince, the pampered son of the president at Lurker’s company. With bribes and muscle, Prince has effortlessly advanced through the test.

As someone who has spent years watching and analyzing strength-based competitions, I have seen it all – from the strongest contenders effortlessly clearing obstacles to the underdogs surprising everyone with their hidden powers. However, nothing quite compares to the tension and excitement that comes with witnessing a newcomer shattering records and defying expectations.

Casting Aside Pride

Ja Wangnam Refuses to Give Up

After his failed attempt, Wangnam felt disheartened as yet another opportunity to progress eluded him. But, upon learning that it was Viole who would decide who moved forward, Wangnam wiped away his tears and put on a mixture of inspiring and pitiful performance as he pleaded with Viole to pick him. Though Prince and his entourage mocked Wangnam’s actions, the Regulars from their previous group rallied behind him, imploring Viole to choose them. Yihwa attempted to sway Viole’s decision with practical considerations, but everyone was taken aback when Viole revealed that he didn’t intend to select anyone.

I Am Your Enemy

Jue Viole Grace, Enemy of Jahad

Tower of God Season 2: Viole Shows His Strength

Viole’s refusal to pick anyone leaves Yihwa and the others displeased, particularly when he explains that he only wants to associate with those who aren’t unfit for him. Introducing himself as Jue Viole Grace, a FUG Slayer Candidate, Viole makes it clear that his goal is to eliminate Jahad and his family. Given this objective, Viole considers anyone trying to ascend the tower as potential adversaries. Love poses an ultimatum to Viole: if he emerges victorious in a contest against the proctor, he may proceed alone; otherwise, he must adhere to the rules. Following this announcement, the group is given permission to retire and unwind in previously prepared quarters. In the male changing room, Viole encounters Wangnam in a frenzy as he hunts for his red ring that graces his index finger, handing it over to him.

As Viole departs, Wangnam exhales deeply, realizing that their animosity is apparent to Viole. The ring’s three-eyed Jahad mark is a significant hint revealing Ja Wangnam’s true identity. In the waning moments of the episode, Love engages in conversation with the Test Director, indicating his plans against Viole. Although providing amusing moments through Ja Wangnam’s encounters with other characters, the second installment of Tower of God season 2 wasn’t as thrilling as the initial one, but it lays the groundwork for the narrative to unfold. The display of apparent power distinctions was an intriguing development this episode. Although the recently introduced characters haven’t had enough time to endear themselves, Ja Wangnam has quickly become a fan favorite due to his captivating presence. Anticipation builds as we await the developments between him and Viole in this season.
