Towerborne first early access update is live, makes lots of changes

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the latest update for Towerborne has left me quite intrigued. Having dabbled in several early access titles, I can attest to the fact that updates often serve as both a challenge and an opportunity. The “Duskveil” update, brought to us by Stoic and Xbox Game Studios, is no exception.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that I just got my hands on the initial Early Access Update for Towerborne! This bad boy was dropped by none other than the brilliant minds at Stoic and Xbox Game Studios. It’s jam-packed with significant changes, making the game feel fresh and exciting, plus it’s brimming with brand new content to explore!

On September 10th, Towerborne was launched in early access for PC platforms. The inaugural update, titled “Duskveil”, has since been rolled out. This update includes seasonal cosmetics, bug fixes, and enhancements to the overall user experience. Importantly, it also incorporates gameplay modifications that have been informed by player feedback.

According to Stoic, here’s a rundown of the adjustments made to gameplay and exploration (for comprehensive details, check out the complete patch notes by clicking the provided link):

In this latest update, we’re primarily working on enhancing fundamental aspects such as character progression, Spirit Dust usage, and shrine interactions, all while maintaining an enjoyable and well-balanced mission and challenge experience. Our primary aim was to streamline the pace of progression and adjust the difficulty levels. We listened to your suggestions that leveling up, acquiring gear, and farming Spirit Dust were happening a bit too swiftly. Additionally, we observed significant difficulty peaks between danger levels, particularly between Levels 3 and 4, where Aces still lack access to Epic Items. To tackle this issue, we’ve made adjustments to item upgrades. Now, fully upgraded Uncommon and Rare items can reach higher levels while maintaining a balance for Epic items.

One area that has seen a fair amount of changes is the Sentinel class, as follows:

It’s been great reading all the feedback about each class. The Sentinel Class in particular has had a lot of healthy discussion, both positive and critical. It’s clear that this Class is a hot topic, and there are aspects of it that don’t quite feel right. A large portion of this update specifically focuses on the Sentinel’s Class Mechanic to bring it more in line with the other classes. Some of these changes may be expected, but it’s possible that there’s a bit of a fun surprise as well. There will be additional tweaks in the future to further refine the Class Mechanic, but right now, we wanted to focus on providing the player with cool moments and new opportunities. Thanks for joining us on this adventure!

Due to numerous modifications, it would be beneficial to check the detailed updates provided in the official patch notes available on Steam for further information.

Towerborne is in early access on PC via Steam now.
