Dragon Ball fans have recently received some exciting news! While everyone eagerly anticipates the next season of Dragon Ball Super – which will adapt a fan-favorite story arc – many are still a bit let down that the manga has been paused for the past two years.
Although most fans still expect the manga to continue someday, some are starting to worry if the story will ever be finished or if they’ll get to see what happens next. There was recent news about Toyotaro creating more Dragon Ball material, but it wasn’t the announcement everyone was hoping for.
Toyotaro Is Drawing Dragon Ball Content Once Again
I’m so excited! Bandai Spirits and Shueisha just revealed a fantastic new line called the DRAGON BALL S.H.Figuarts Collection Son Goku! It’s centered around a really cool Goku figure – he’s wearing this amazing outfit inspired by the classic Monkey King, Sun Wukong. But that’s not all – they’re also including a databook with info on all the previous Dragon Ball S.H.Figuarts figures, and get this – a brand new manga story illustrated by Toyotaro! It’s a dream come true for any Dragon Ball fan like me.
A short, three-page manga preview was shared online, hinting at an exciting fight between Monkey King Goku and Vegeta.
Will the Dragon Ball Super Manga Ever Return?
I’m so excited! It’s not a Dragon Ball Super manga comeback announcement just yet, but it definitely sounds like Toyotaro is still planning more content for the series! He just updated his X (formerly Twitter) profile, and it’s got fans, like me, really hopeful. He added the line, “Everything is for the return of the series,” which is a huge hint that the manga might be coming back soon! I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
It seems the creator is putting in a lot of effort to bring the series back, but there might be some obstacles before the manga can continue. The issue appears to be a legal disagreement between Shueisha and Akio Iyoku, the founder of Capsule Corporation Tokyo, regarding the rights to the Dragon Ball franchise. Unfortunately, there haven’t been any updates on this legal battle, and it could take a long time to resolve.

It’s unknown if this disagreement will impact Dragon Ball Super directly, but these kinds of issues often create uncertainty for the entire franchise until they’re resolved. However, the possibility of a new Dragon Ball Super anime suggests that things might be progressing despite the issues, or that they’ve already been taken care of. What is clear is that the manga creator intends to continue the story and finally reveal the full extent of Black Frieza’s power.
The Next Dragon Ball Super Anime Is Coming
With the announcement of a new Dragon Ball Super anime season, fans are thrilled to see more of the story brought to life. The upcoming season will adapt the popular Moro Saga arc.
This story arc covers volumes 9 to 15 and centers around Moro, a very strong wizard who serves as the primary villain. It also includes Jaco, a character from Akira Toriyama’s manga, Jaco the Galactic Patrolman.
Dragon Ball Super is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
