As a long-time fan who’s spent countless hours building LEGO sets and solving puzzles in LEGO games, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgic disappointment at the sight of this leaked LEGO James Bond trailer. The idea of a humorous, brick-filled take on the suave spy has been tantalizingly dangled before us, only to be cruelly snatched away.
On YouTube, there’s been a leak of a trailer for an abandoned LEGO Bond project by TT Games. This brief 50-second clip gives us a glimpse into a game that was supposedly halted multiple years back, around the same period when LEGO Dimensions was no longer produced.
It’s been suggested online that the game was being developed during the final stages of LEGO Dimensions production in 2016, but ultimately it was determined that the James Bond franchise wasn’t a good fit because of the series’ well-known violence and suggestive content.

LEGO has explored various game franchises, such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones, throughout its history, but never managed to create a James Bond project. Given the vastness of the Bond universe, it appears that a LEGO series could easily be developed – and now, with the appearance of this leaked trailer, we can see how close we came to seeing it become reality.

The preview highlights memorable moments across different James Bond ventures, and surprisingly for something discarded early, it appears quite refined. It seems like it might have been a fully-voiced game, which was becoming common in LEGO games during the period when LEGO JB was allegedly under production.
Sadly, LEGO James Bond was lost to the abyss of time and won’t ever see the light of day.
