Explosives like grenades and traps are key to combat in ARC Raiders. They can help you tag enemies or clear out large areas, and how well they work depends on how you use them. Some explosives are particularly powerful, so here’s a tier list ranking the best grenades and traps in ARC Raiders.

ARC Raiders Explosives Tier List Update (January 2026)
As a player, I’ve found the Light Impact Grenade to be super useful in ARC Raiders, especially when I’m trying to build a cheaper setup. You can just keep throwing them at enemies to deal damage, make them move from their safe spots, and even take out any traps they’ve set. It’s a really versatile tool!
Okay, so let’s talk grenades in ARC Raiders. The Heavy Fuze Grenades hit hard, but honestly, they’re a little slow to explode. That gives enemies plenty of time to get out of the way, which is why I don’t think they’re top-tier. The Snap Blast Grenade is cool because it sticks, making it tougher to dodge, but it has the same issue. Then there’s the Shrapnel Grenade – it’s basically a cheaper, weaker version of the Heavy Fuze, with a smaller blast radius. It’s useful, but not amazing.
The Blaze Grenade is a powerful tool in ARC Raiders, especially effective at flushing enemies out of cover or eliminating tough ARC units. Beyond its solid damage, it sets enemies on fire, hindering their ability to fight back effectively. Many players consider it one of the best grenades in the game – an S-Tier choice.
The Blaze Grenade Trap isn’t as powerful, but it can still work if enemies walk directly into it. The Fireball Burner has a similar effect, but its lower damage, limited usefulness, and smaller area of effect make it more frustrating than helpful as a quick-use item.
The Showstopper grenade excels at disrupting enemy attacks by briefly controlling combat, making raiders move from their safe positions. It’s particularly effective against ARC enemies, stunning them for a significant amount of time. The Jolt Mine offers similar disruption, but it’s more suited for player-versus-player combat, allowing you to disable an approaching opponent if you anticipate their attack.
The Gas Grenade, Gas Grenade Trap, and Gas Mine all function in a similar way: they control a specific area and reduce the stamina of any raiders who enter it. They also offer a minor visual obstruction, putting enemies at a slight disadvantage. While these are inexpensive options that can achieve a similar effect to more powerful grenades, they aren’t quite as effective. Of the three, the Gas Grenade Trap is the least reliable, as raiders can easily detect it. To maximize its effectiveness, place it in areas where the game requires an animation to play, such as immediately after a zipline or a difficult jump.
The Explosive Mine is strangely categorized as a trap, despite doing very little damage. It requires setup and a raider needs to walk right into it for a weak effect. While stacking multiple mines can be helpful, there are definitely better choices available. But if we’re talking about truly useless mines, the Pulse Mine in ARC Raiders takes the cake. It barely does anything other than give enemies a small nudge – it’s practically just for fun.
When setting traps, Synthesized Fuels are a great choice. You can collect them during raids and then combine multiple fuels to create a larger explosion when raiders approach your base.
Both the Lure Grenade and Lure Grenade Trap are designed to attract enemy ARC units to a specific location. The Lure Grenade is particularly useful because you can throw it directly at enemies, quickly drawing attention. The trap, on the other hand, isn’t very effective – it’s easy to see and requires careful setup beforehand, making it too much effort for the results it provides.
The Li’l Smoke Grenade, Smoke Grenade, and Smoke Grenade Trap can all effectively disorient enemies nearby. The standard Smoke Grenade creates a large smoke screen, allowing you and your teammates to reposition, aggressively engage in close combat, or safely retreat. The Li’l Smoke Grenade provides a similar, though shorter-lasting and smaller, effect, making it an affordable and dependable choice for less expensive raids. The Smoke Grenade Trap, however, shares a weakness with other traps – it requires you to anticipate enemy paths to be useful. Given the consistent performance of the Smoke Grenade and Li’l Smoke Grenade, the Trap isn’t usually a worthwhile investment.
The Seeker Grenade is a smaller, more affordable version of the powerful Wolfpack grenade in ARC Raiders. While it doesn’t have the same range or damage as the Wolfpack, it’s great for taking out smaller flying enemies like Hornets and Wasps. For larger, tougher ARCs, though, you’ll want the Wolfpack’s superior firepower.
The Deadline is a powerful trap in ARC Raiders. Once activated, it explodes after a short delay, destroying everything in a wide area – including both enemy raiders and ARC creatures.
The Trigger ‘Nade in ARC Raiders is currently too powerful and needs to be adjusted. It’s so effective that a single grenade can disrupt an entire team, forcing them to retreat. Right now, it’s the best grenade in the game, and players consistently start raids by equipping one or two of them.
The Tagging Grenade is useful when enemies are hidden but nearby. It works especially well with Smoke Grenades – while smoke obscures vision, the Tagging Grenade reveals enemy positions and tracks their movement.
The Trailblazer isn’t very strong in player-versus-player combat, but it’s very effective against ground-based enemies that use ARC technology. While it’s a powerful item, it’s expensive and not always dependable, which keeps it from ranking higher on our list of ARC Raiders explosives.
