The animated series “Trigun” is often hailed as one of the best in anime history. Although it might not enjoy the same mass appeal as One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon Ball, there’s a devoted fan community that eagerly awaits any news concerning the show.
According to the latest news, the upcoming sequel of Trigun Stampede has been given a release date, which is set for 2026. This new installment is titled Trigun Stargaze.
Everything Confirmed About Trigun Stargaze
To begin with, it’s been verified that Trigun Stargaze will be developed by Orange, who previously worked on the prequel. This indicates that the team behind this project trusts Orange’s work. However, some fans have voiced concerns about Orange’s use of 3D models and deviating from the original anime series’ style.
Fans of the original anime may feel a sense of longing towards the remake, but it’s unrealistic to think another studio won’t bring their unique style to the project. It’s also important to note that Trigun Stampede remains faithful to the manga created by Yasuhiro Nightow.
Aside from Trigun, Orange has also worked on other notable projects, including:
- Beastars
- Godzilla Singular Point
- Land of the Lustrous
Although the studio may not yet boast a vast number of completed projects, the few it has tackled have generally garnered favorable responses from audiences.
As an observer, I’m excited to share that the upcoming production, Trigun Stargaze, is set to be directed by the esteemed Masako Sato. Known for her work on The Apothecary Diaries, Haikyuu!!, Run with the Wind, and Welcome to the Ballroom, she brings a wealth of experience to the table. Given her track record, it’s safe to say that Trigun Stargaze is poised to be a success under her guidance.
Remarkably, the cast from Trigun Stampede is expected to reprise their roles for this sequel. This means we can look forward to Yoshitsugu Matsuoka returning to voice the iconic character, Vash.
Trigun Is A Cult Classic That Every Anime Fan Should Watch

Trigun originates from the creative mind of Yasuhiro Nightow. Its storytelling started in Monthly Shonen Captain magazine back in March 1995. Due to certain circumstances, the manga moved to Young King OURs magazine in 1997 and remained there until 2007. The initial animated series was developed by Madhouse in 1998, featuring a total of 26 episodes.
In the following years, a new anime film titled “Trigun: Badlands Rumble” was unveiled by its creators. This film hit Japanese theaters on April 24, 2010. A reboot of Trigun was announced in 2022 and debuted in January 2023.
Trigun Stargaze will be released in 2026.
