Trump Shooter Posted Cryptic Message on Steam Before Assassination Attempt

As a long-time observer of the video game industry and its intersection with real-life events, I find myself deeply troubled by the recent assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump and the revelation that the shooter, Thomas Crooks, had posted a cryptic message about his intentions on Steam.

On July 13, during a rally in Pennsylvania, a man attempted to assassinate presidential candidate Donald Trump. He managed to harm the ex-US President but tragically took the life of an innocent bystander in the process. Since then, much information about the gunman has emerged online.

I recently came across an intriguing piece of news reported by a UK media outlet. According to their investigation, before carrying out his plan, the shooter left a mysterious message on Steam, which seemed to hint at his forthcoming actions from my perspective.

‘Watch as it Unfolds’

Thomas Crooks went to the Trump rally in Pennsylvania with the plan to assassinate the contentious presidential candidate. He reached the summit of a close-by roof and assumed a lying position, readying his weapon to shoot. However, just as he pulled the trigger, Trump unexpectedly moved his head, causing Crooks to miss his mark.

During their investigation into the online identity of the shooter, internet users discovered a Steam account belonging to Crooks that was confirmed to be authentic. This account later seemed to vanish from the platform, but prior to its disappearance, news outlets managed to obtain a solitary comment allegedly posted by Crooks before the shooting occurred.

July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds.

Surprise of surprises, on the 13th of July, Crooks made an attempt to write new history by attempting to take the life of a former US President, who is also a contender for future presidency.

The link between this issue is likely to spark controversy, as numerous figures in the US administration have been vocal about their concerns regarding the influence of violent video games on young people globally. Donald Trump himself has criticized these graphic games and proposed that prolonged exposure leads to the development of violent individuals who may be inclined to carry out mass shootings.

Since the 1990s, there has been ongoing controversy regarding the influence of violent video games, particularly shooters, on society. This debate gained significant momentum following high-profile school shootings, such as the one at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, in 1999, where two students killed 13 people. The media widely reported the shooters’ association with games like DOOM. Subsequently, many other violent incidents, including the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012 and the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007, fueled this debate as their perpetrators were also linked to violent video games.

It’ll be interesting to see what’s said about this in the coming days.
