TSM announced on social media that they are leaving VALORANT esports. The organization has been involved in the competitive scene since the game’s release in 2020.
Despite being involved in VALORANT for five years, the organization hasn’t achieved significant success. They’ve only won a few smaller tournaments and haven’t been able to establish a strong presence in the competitive scene.
TSM is Out, But Nobody is Surprised
In a post on social media, TSM wrote:
In 2020, TSM entered the VALORANT esports scene with a team that was both fun to watch and highly competitive—fans still remember them well. We were early advocates for allowing streamers like Myth to host watch parties of our matches, something that’s now common in VALORANT. We built a strong foundation by creating not only a main team and an advanced academy team, but also one of the first teams specifically for the VALORANT Game Changers program, all with a focus on developing players and teams from the beginning.
For the past three years, we’ve been working our way up through the Challengers circuit, aiming to reach the top tier. We consistently improved each year, and in 2025, that hard work paid off with a spot in the Ascension Grand Finals.
After five years of working on VALORANT, we’ve decided to stop development and don’t plan to come back to the game in the near future.
We’re grateful to Riot Games for constantly working to improve the Tier 2 competitive scene and for creating a game we’re all passionate about. We also want to thank all of our players for their support over the last five years – you’ve made our journey in esports incredible.
We want to thank all of our VALORANT fans for supporting us throughout this incredible journey. Despite the challenges we faced, we always strived to make you proud.
TSM was one of the first organizations to invest in VALORANT, but it never amounted to much.
This decision is part of a larger trend of changes within the company. They recently sold their spot in the League of Champions Series (LCS) and also experimented with new games like The Finals, developed by Embark Studios.
Although TSM is still involved in esports generally, leaving VALORANT signals a larger shift in the team’s strategy and focus.
