On May 4th, independent studio Snoozy Kazoo from Massachusetts announced “Turnip Boy Steals The Mail”, a spin-off in the 2D auto-runner style of the Turnip Boy series. Snoozy Kazoo has also verified that “Turnip Boy Steals The Mail” can now be added to your wishlist on Steam, and when it’s eventually released, you’ll be able to play the main game for free.
In a nod to the original game, Turnip Boy Steals the Mail is a prequel and spinoff of Turnip Boy’s Tax Evasion Adventure. This 2021 title, reminiscent of Zelda, follows our Turnip Boy protagonist as he embarks on a series of mischievous deeds across Veggieville. After refusing to pay his taxes, Turnip Boy decides to challenge the vegetable administration. The original game was followed by its direct sequel in 2024, Turnip Boy’s Bank Heist, which introduced rogue-lite mechanics to keep each playthrough unique and included narrative twists for players to uncover during the Botanical Bank robbery.
In an exciting announcement, Snoozy Kazoo, the studio behind it, is preparing a prequel titled Turnip Boy Steals The Mail, set to release on Steam at an undisclosed date. This upcoming game, unlike its predecessors published by Graffiti Games, will be developed and published by Snoozy Kazoo. In the blog post penned by studio lead Yukon Wainczak, we learned that Turnip Boy Steals The Mail is a 2D auto-scrolling platformer that takes place one day before Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. In this new adventure, Turnip Boy will work for Velvet, a dark velvet cake, and commit his first crimes. To give fans a sneak peek, Snoozy Kazoo released a 25-second YouTube trailer. The gameplay is an auto-runner where Turnip Boy collects various cosmetics and power-ups while stealing envelopes and packages in Veggieville, all the while avoiding obstacles.
Turnip Boy Steals The Mail Spinoff Announced
Wainczak announced that as a token of appreciation for the studio’s fans, they will be offering the standard edition of the game Turnip Boy Steals The Mail free of charge on Steam. Moreover, the system requirements for running Turnip Boy Steals The Mail are quite modest. For those eager to play this upcoming 2D auto-runner game, Windows users will only need a system with 8 GB of RAM, at least 256 MB of storage space, and a CPU that can handle a minimum processing speed of 2.6 GHz.
While I eagerly wait for the release of “Turnip Boy”, as a gamer, I’m making sure to save a spot on my Steam wishlist so I don’t miss out when it drops. With indie games like “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” and “Blue Prince” generating buzz all over social media, I can’t wait to see how well “Turnip Boy” fares in the gaming community!
