For those who’ve already pre-booked Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Xbox, go ahead and begin downloading the game – a total of 107 GB – immediately.
Ubisoft has shared the worldwide launch dates for Assassin’s Creed Shadow, as well as the pre-load starting times for those who have already pre-ordered it across various platforms.
As a gamer, I’ve got some exciting news! The pre-loading for this game kicks off on my Xbox Series X|S at 2 PM UTC on March 4. That means I can start downloading it right now! For my PlayStation 5 friends, the pre-load becomes available on March 18 at midnight in your local timezone. And if you’re playing on PC, you can begin pre-loading from March 17 at 4 PM UTC. Let the countdown begin!
It’s important to mention that in specific areas, the launch times for PC may vary between Steam and Ubisoft Connect platforms. Users on Reddit have pointed out that the game is initially set to debut in New Zealand.
No Steam Deck, At Least At Launch

As an enthusiastic gamer, I’ve learned that Assassin’s Creed Shadows won’t be playable on Steam Deck at its initial release. This is because the game’s minimum system requirements aren’t met by the Steam Deck hardware, as confirmed by Ubisoft.
It appears that the option isn’t currently available for Steam Deck users, as they must wait for potential future changes.
Gamers who own consoles can look forward to the fact that the game is designed to operate at a smooth 60 frames per second in 4K resolution on both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
It appears that Assassin’s Creed Shadows might be a more compact experience compared to some recent titles such as Valhalla. Ubisoft estimates that players will need between 80 to 100 hours to fully explore and achieve everything (100% completion), or around 30 to 40 hours just to finish the main storyline.
The upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, scheduled for March 23, was prematurely revealed when some players obtained copies ahead of time, leading to a leak of the entire game.
Ubisoft advised players to keep quiet about the upcoming game and to be cautious of potential spoilers until its official launch.
As a fellow gaming enthusiast who’s been hooked on this series, here’s some exciting news: The upcoming game will feature a “Canon Mode”! This mode is designed to clear up any confusion we fans might have about the storyline, as it removes the major narrative choices that have caused quite a stir in recent games. In other words, it sets the record straight on what events are officially part of the series’ story arc moving forward.
