Ubisoft Cancels Online Appearance At Tokyo Game Show

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say I’m left scratching my head over Ubisoft’s sudden cancellation at Tokyo Game Show 2024. It’s like they pulled the plug on a much-anticipated gathering at the last minute.

Ubisoft has withdrawn from its planned participation at the Tokyo Game Show, which takes place in a mere two days.

According to a statement from Ubisoft Japan, their choice was influenced by several different factors.

I’m sorry to say it, but due to a mix of unforeseen events, I find myself unable to join the Tokyo Game Show 2024 online, which was set to begin at 3:00 PM on September 26th.

I’m sorry to disappoint, but we had to give short notice about the broadcast. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused to those eagerly awaiting it.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the “ongoing giveaway” they mentioned is still happening, even though the original broadcast has been cancelled. So, keep an eye out for your chance to win!

Amidst a stormy period for Ubisoft, they have decided to withdraw from the upcoming event. Despite the eagerly awaited launch of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows in November, the company is facing stress from various other quarters.

As an avid fan, I can’t help but express my worries about XDefiant. Contrary to what we’ve been told, it seems the game is struggling, evident by decreasing player numbers. This issue is further compounded by the steady decline in stock prices and a call from at least one investor for executive changes and potential privatization of the company.

I’ve reached out to Ubisoft several times in an effort to gain a clearer understanding about the “various circumstances” they mentioned. Regrettably, at the time of this post, I haven’t received any reply yet.

UPDATE 10am ET: Ubisoft has told TopMob that they have “No Comment” on the cancellation.
