Ubisoft has acknowledged this situation and issued a statement to players about the early release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows as well as the leaks that have ensued.

On a social media post, Ubisoft admits that players have gotten early access to Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its official launch. They want to inform the public that while they may see gameplay, it’s important to remember that there are still some final touches being made to ensure a top-notch day one experience.

Ubisoft stated that their development team continues to work on improvements (patches) before the game’s release, so the footage you see online may not reflect the game’s ultimate quality at launch.

The studio labeled the leaks as unfortunate and potentially dampening player enthusiasm. As a result, they advise those who have the game already not to share any information to prevent spoiling it for those anticipating its launch.
