Ubisoft Will Release Games On Steam On Day One Moving Forward

As a long-time gamer who can remember the days of dial-up internet and floppy disks, it’s heartening to see Ubisoft returning to Steam for Day One releases. I still have my original copy of Assassin’s Creed on Steam, and the thought of revisiting that game in 2025 with all the bells and whistles of modern gaming is almost too much to bear!

Moving forward, Ubisoft plans to release their games simultaneously on Steam from the first day of launch. This decision follows the less-than-satisfactory debut of Star Wars Outlaws.

From February 14, 2025, every fresh title from Ubisoft will simultaneously debut on Steam, consoles, and Ubisoft Connect on the same day.

Speaking of Star Wars Outlaws, the game will also be coming to Steam on November 21.

Lately, Steam has surpassed its previous record for the highest number of concurrent PC players, reaching a whopping 38,367,277, as reported by SteamDB. Ubisoft anticipates that rejoining Steam will boost their game sales in the long run.

During a conference call on Wednesday, it was revealed that Ubisoft’s Board of Directors is planning to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the entire company. This assessment will encompass various aspects of the organization, particularly focusing on overall performance.
