As a seasoned gamer with years of football video game experiences under my belt, I must admit that the anticipation for UFL has been building like a crescendo in a symphony of excitement. After being teased and tantalized by the dominance of EA Sports FC and eFootball, it’s refreshing to see Strikerz Inc. stepping up to the plate with their innovative new offering.
Despite the fact that eFootball and EA Sports FC have held a strong grip on the football video game market for a long time, Strikerz Inc. is set to enter the scene with UFL. This new contender promises an exciting, content-rich experience that players can earn through gameplay.
After undergoing various test phases and experiencing a substantial delay in launch, the game is now accessible for early play via Early Access, with a full global release planned for December 5th. Yet, there’s much anticipation regarding where this game can be played. Here’s some information about its compatibility across different platforms.
What Platforms Is UFL Available On?
UFL is set to debut on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s important to note that Strikerz Inc. has been working diligently on a PC version, which they plan to release in early 2025. The PC version was initially announced back in September 2024, and this was further emphasized during the UFL’s Kick-off Show event that took place on November 28, 2024.
Will UFL Release on Mobile Devices?
Currently, as I pen this, the Strikerz Inc. crew is vigorously working on creating a mobile adaptation of UFL. This was affirmed by CEO Eugene Nashilov during an interview with YouTuber 2SANDER7 on November 23, 2024.
Will UFL Release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One?
According to Strikerz Inc., it appears that UFL will not be making its debut on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Although early development phases and the initial gameplay trailer hinted at the inclusion of last-generation consoles, this decision was altered as the project advanced.
UFL: PS4 and Xbox One Release, Explained
In 2022, Eugene Nashilov, CEO of Strikerz Inc., shared on the UFL’s official Discord channel that the team was working extensively to enhance both the visuals and technical aspects of the game to ensure smooth performance at 60 frames per second (fps) even on a console that is ten years old. They mentioned their goal had always been to implement cross-platform matchmaking, but acknowledged it would be a challenging task. Two years later, in early 2024, the UFL Twitter account reinforced their commitment to exploring multiple platforms and stressed the importance of taking things one step at a time, rather than rushing the process.
So far, the developers of UFL haven’t shared any news about a possible port for these consoles. Given the game’s repeated delays and its reliance on Unreal Engine 5, it’s unclear if they still intend to cater to last-generation hardware. This ambiguity is compounded by their confirmed launches on PC and mobile platforms, which demand considerable time and effort. If anything shifts in this regard, we’ll make sure to update this post with the most recent details.
