The computer version of “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” is about to be released, allowing fans to check if their systems are capable of running it. Since early 2024, PlayStation users have been enjoying the remaster, but as with many games that were initially exclusive to PS, the transition to PC has taken some time. With the release date just weeks away, the specifications and features for “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” on PC have been disclosed.
As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share that Naughty Dog officially confirmed the PC release date for “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” as April 3, 2025, during The Game Awards 2024. Back then, they hinted at PC-specific features without revealing specifics. However, a recent blog post has finally shed light on this mystery, giving us a glimpse into how seamlessly the game will run on our PC setups.
On March 20, Naughty Dog disclosed the PC specifications for the enhanced version of “The Last of Us Part 2,” titled “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.” At its lowest setting, the game will display at a resolution of 720p and run at 30 frames per second (FPS). However, when maxed out, it can deliver an impressive 4K resolution at 60 FPS. This performance is similar to that of “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” on the PS5 Pro, but requires high-end hardware to achieve. Naughty Dog advises using an RTX 4080 or RX 7900XT graphics card and 32GB of RAM for optimal performance. In contrast, the minimum requirements to run the game are relatively modest, requiring only a GTX 1650 or RX 5500XT graphics card and 16GB of RAM.

As a fellow gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the PC version of this game will offer support for both Nvidia and AMD frame generation and upscaling, perfect for those with ultra-widescreen setups or triple monitors (even up to an aspect ratio of 48:9!). The visual enhancements for PC users are plentiful, including options to adjust texture quality, volumetric quality, shadow quality, ambient occlusion, and reflections.
For those who prefer using a mouse and keyboard, you’ll be able to customize your controls completely. There’s even an option to combine keyboard and gamepad inputs if that suits your playstyle better. For controller enthusiasts, the game will deliver full haptic feedback on the DualSense, making it worthwhile for those who’ve recently invested in Sony’s new limited edition Last of Us DualSense controllers.
Naughty Dog’s recent announcement provides fans with an updated perspective on rewards they can claim when connecting their PlayStation Network (PSN) account on PC. Initially, Sony stated that The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered would necessitate a PSN account on PC; however, this requirement has been revised, and now those who do link their accounts will receive some free in-game items as a thank you. These rewards include an Ellie skin featuring a jacket from the upcoming Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, as well as 50 points to be used on additional bonuses.
