An uncontested update is being actively worked on for this month, and its creators, Steel City Interactive, have revealed that the update will feature two complimentary fighters, along with numerous bug fixes, enhancements, tweaks, and additional improvements. Although a specific launch date for the forthcoming update hasn’t been disclosed yet, the developers have shared a preview of what we can expect from the official patch notes.
The initial year for Steel City Interactive’s much-awaited boxing game, Undisputed, has faced some rough patches. Upon its official launch last year after exiting early access, it received mixed reviews from critics. Many found that the game played less enjoyably post 1.0 launch. Fans who had eagerly anticipated the complete version of Undisputed criticized the lack of features, a basic career mode, and various bugs and issues in online matches. Fortunately, Steel City has been diligent in addressing these concerns through regular updates. It now appears that the latest patch is nearing completion, with a full release imminent in the near future.
Undisputed Confirms Two New Fighters Coming Soon
A few weeks ago, Steel City gave us a sneak peek at the upcoming changes for Undisputed with a quick rundown of patch notes. Now, they’ve revealed the complete update details on their Discord channel and announced that this update will arrive soon in the same month! Excitingly, it seems like we’ll get not one, but two new fighters for free: Antonio Tarver, a legendary former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion, and Billy Dib, a skilled boxer with titles in featherweight and super-featherweight. Interestingly, while Dib is still active, Tarver hasn’t fought since 2015. There were plans for him to return against former UFC champ Frank Mir in 2021, but unfortunately, Tarver had to pull out after not receiving clearance from the Georgia Athletic & Entertainment Commission.

In addition to the upcoming update, you can anticipate a variety of bug corrections, alterations in fighter ratings, and modifications specifically for Sergio Martinez at both middleweight and welterweight. As per the release notes, Steel City plans on eliminating the widely-used Lightning Hands Perk from Undisputed‘s roster, along with a decrease in Martinez’s punch speed to 90 for middleweight and 91 for welterweight. Steel City has also fine-tuned most of Sergio Martinez’s punches in the southpaw speed category, and lessened the speed of his right uppercut when he fights orthodox.

Regularly, significant, uncontested updates typically coincide with the release of a new DLC, which abounds with combatants for players to engage with. Notably, the studio has been incorporating an increasing number of new fighters into the game at no additional cost. This month, Dib and Tarver are set to debut, while it was just two months ago that the 1.4 update introduced a group of new fighters: Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, and Damian Chambers. Furthermore, more fighters were also added via the recently released Mexican Monster DLC.
