For the first time when Majima meets Nishitani, he finds himself puzzled by the casual, lawless demeanor of this individual. Beneath his surface, there was a yearning in Majima to break free from all constraints and live life without any shackles.
The reason their encounter in prison is momentous is because they engage in another fight. Regrettably, events take a turn for the worse, prompting Nishitani to shield Majima and facilitate his escape. This eventually leads to a gruesome incident where Someya cuts open his own stomach upon Tsuneo’s command, resulting in a deeply moving finale for him.
