Despite some early performance issues, particularly on PC, *Borderlands 4* has been a huge success for Gearbox Software, selling 2.5 million copies in less than two weeks. Positive reviews helped drive sales, but the game’s launch wasn’t without problems. These issues led to some friction between Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford and players, with Pitchford even suggesting dissatisfied customers request refunds. Despite these difficulties, many players are still enjoying *Borderlands 4* and have even discovered unique ways to move around the game’s world.
Borderlands 4 Creative Director Addresses “Cricket Jumping” Glitch
In the new installment, *Borderlands 4*, players venture to a large open world called Kairos and gain access to enhanced movement options, including a grappling hook and a vehicle. Players have recently discovered a glitch called “Cricket Jumping” that allows them to quickly traverse vast distances by essentially flying. While enjoyable, especially for speedrunners, this isn’t a deliberate game feature, and many are curious if Gearbox will release a patch to fix it.
A video showcasing a glitch called “Cricket Jumping” grabbed the attention of Graeme Timmins, the Creative Director for the potential *Borderlands 4*. He responded directly, explaining that Gearbox Software is aware of the glitch but doesn’t currently plan to fix it. The main concern is that Cricket Jumping can cause technical problems and instability, especially in online multiplayer. While they don’t want to take away player enjoyment, the team may need to address the issue to ensure the game remains stable.
Players are always trying to find the most powerful combinations in games like Borderlands, experimenting with different character classes and skills. While these attempts rarely cause problems with the game itself, one player recently discovered an incredibly strong setup. Using Peacebreaker cannons in Borderlands 4, Rafa created a build so effective that players can essentially complete the game without firing a weapon, and a guide has been created to show others how to do it.
